How does one dispose of this stuff? I am forever getting it in anything I buy or order...have tons of it in bags and boxes in the basement. Does the stuff even burn? How does one dispose of it without jeopordizing the environment? Give me bubble wrap....not the dreaded popcorn! Stuff flies in the air and sticks to everything!!!!!!

    SCREAM!

No don't burn it! The fumes are toxic. The only think you can do is save it and reuse it. It's really the greatest packing material for delicate things, in combo with the bubble wrap. You wrap the fragile object in bubble wrap, then fill the shipping box with the Styrofoam peanuts so it supports the object in the middle of the box, with peanuts at least 3" deep on all sides. This makes it really difficult for the parcel monkeys to destroy it.

and give someone else the headache.....LOL

I would never sell as many things to match the amount of peanuts or popcorn i have been storing for years.....so I am afraid...the stuff will just stay in my basement and take up much needed room for other things in the boxes and bags it is in forever! :p

the new ones are made with starch and easily dissolved with water

try it with a couple to see if they used the enviro friendly ones

google says old style polystyrene ones can be dissolved in acetone

:bulb: ...or better yet, pour it on cardboard, let it evaporate then throw the cardboard away with your normal trash!

    Freecycle.org

See if there is a group in your area and donate it.

"Google" other ways to donate it.

  11. You will live with the styrofoam for the rest of your life.

Ok, thanks for all the great tips.
That big bean chair is funny.
I would have to use non destructible material, though, as my animals can rip cloth open... No problem, and I would drown in popcorn here. Lol
I will just leave it all contained in carpenter bags and boxes for now, I guess.
