stupid people with fur coats...

nothing wrorg with fur coats, i have a reindeer parka myself. its the single warmest peice of clothing I own. no man made materials can even compair

the fur is too the inside so its acts as insualtion, it basicly looks like a heavy brown suade jacket with a fur collar

 

well its unfortunate that we were born into a world where animals are used, abused and exploited for just about everything in some way. if i had the power id change it in second but it doesnt work like that. veganism isnt a quest for perfection or purity...we are doing as much as we can with what we are given to make a change for the better. you know you should really stop trying to find so many inconsistancies in other people and focus more on what YOU are doing to help animals...and what would that be since you seem so critical of vegan....?????? and no one here claimed to be perfect, or did i miss that somewhere?


and what abortion has to do with animals rights i will never know.

edit: oh and im the "second hand wool lady". i dont care whether the sheep are killed or not, its THEIR wool and i have no right to take it from them. also theres MUCH cruelty that goes into wool production and besides that factor i dont believe animals should be used at all or in any way to benefit human society....so second hand it will be or not at all.

 

lets pretend i thought human meat was tasty......no soil grown food could even compare. would that make it ok for me to kill you and eat you? does might make right? i think not. theres plenty of second hand furs im sure you could find on ebay or something....no need to support cruelty.

 

so lets pretend you do like human flesh then live in a country where its normal. move to china where they consume aborted babies. or new guinea where their is still isolated tribes of cannibles. they are still out there. dont believe me watch the discovery channel....


and the second hand wool lady actually i dont have a problem at all with veggy eaters. so dont get me wrong. id never think it was my place to stop you from doing what it is you like to do or belive in, but inreturn i would expect the same.

i live on a commune in Puerto Rico and we have sheep that we sheer twice a year and spin the wool with cotton to make a nice home made blend.

also you mentioned to do more to protect animals. i truley belive the only way animals will ever be protected is if they have value. dont matter the species they should be able to be owned by people. its the only way they will still be around for the generations to come. now sure they need to be well cared for and housed correctly but no matter how much you dislike the fact they will be used by people just as other people are used to further the goals of other people. anybody with a job can attest to that fact.

but anyways back to animals as i said before i grew up in south florida, and as a kid i used to catch reptiles and sell them. and that was before florida required a permit to do so and the catch report sheets that they now require. but the blue indigo and american alligator were booth on the verge of being wipped out. then florida got smart and started letting new alligator farms open.(they had some old timers before that were grandfathered in) but anyways on those gator farms they were allowed to show and display the animals breed them for more offspring. raise them up for slaughter the meat and hides were used. and a portion of the offspring were released into the wild. that help a few things. it populated the wild gators to the degree that they now have gator hunting season in florida. and it gave gators a legal value. no more black market trading that drove the price sky high to where it made people want to hunt the wild ones down and kill them. sure some were killed and used for meat but some were not. but im sure that 20 years ago if florida had not started that gator population would be far worse off than it is now.

now you take the same argument to elephants or any other animal. if it has a legale value it will be cared for. in india they still are allowed to use and train and keep elephants for working just like that always have but in africa they cant and look at the african elephant population .

now again please dont get me wrong. this may or may not be right depend on your point of view. but untill those animals can organize and develope weapons to defeat mankind they will be exploited just as lesser developed countries are exploited. so you really wanna help the animals out buy as many of them as you can and raise them.the more captive bred animals there are the less the strain on the wild populations. cause for a fur coat maker its much more easy to go out to the barn and kill 500 chinchillas a day than it is to try and catch 500 a day.

 

I hate people who wear fur - would they drape the rest of the animal around them? nope they wouldnt. Fake fur to me looks tacky and gross - i think alot of people dont know where it comes from they just see it on a coat and think ohh yeah that looks nice - i dont go near people who wear fur, if i see someone i will usually make a comment

 

I wear leather from head to foot.

It has saved my actual hide on MANY an occasion.

slavery of black people why not jsut say slavery because throughout history more people of other races than black were enslaved. slavery is or wasnt a black thing it had to do with people in power controling others. and of the black slaves that were wild caught they were sold to slave traders by other black tribes so they have some blame on them aswell. and why did the native tribes stop selling the captive to the slave traders? cause after some time they were captive raising enough to supply the market and didnt need to take more from the wild.

and if you dont think anything can be well cared for when in captivitity what is your opinion of zoos?

im kinda wondering what you live in and were you live? im sure some animal was displaced and pissibly even killed all to make your life more comfortable.

as for animals having value to the earth well us human animals have that value as well. other animals even in the wild state do kill other animals for food. its in their nature so why is it ok for them to be left to nature but you dont want us humans to do what is our nature. eat keep warm build homes of wood and so on.

if left to the only the wild state species will not be around in the years to come. sorry to say but its true. but us humans as the domanate species on the planet will use lesser species just as the snake eats the mouse.

again im not trying to say your wrong, but maybe you should see other points of view and stop telling the rest of the world they are wrong. and try and explain how animals and humans can survie on this planet together if humans cant use them for further our own needs.
eventually you would have a food or land war people would need more houses or land for crops and everything on the land would be wiped out.

well maybe if you were more clear on how you think your ideal world would be. you want all humans dead or what? cause like it or not we are hear and animals too. so if the wolf can eat a rabbit or the bear eat a fish or the lion eat a gazzel why cant the human animal eat a cow that was raised on a farm for the sole purpose of being food? or would you like it better if us humans kept hunting other wild species to nothing like almost happened to the buffalo?

and there is nothing natural about a factory farm. infact if you want to do it the NATURAL way then go chase down a deer and kill it with your bear hands. then try to eat the entire thing without the use of man made untensils or cookery.

and obviously animals were displaced for me to live in the home i live in but so is the world i was in born into. as ive said im doing what i can with what i was given to make things better for animals. and of course my hope is that one day there will be no more animal cruelty and i want to help that along as much as i possibly can and know how to. i never claimed to be perfect. thats not the plan anyway b/c in this world its impossible....this world wont allow it right now.

all im trying to say is people are animals also and its in our nature to care for ourselves
just as other animals eat so must we.

and my other point is to farm raise animals and use them for our needs and wants it makes the ones in the wild safer.

if you really think your doing your part to make animals better off level your home and starm a worm farm or some other thing to promote the life igf wild animals cause apparently its ok for you to displace animals and take and or use their homes to make yours but its not for the rest of us.

and you still have not told us how your perfect world of harmaony would work. maybe if you told us this grand plan of yours we would all jump on board and say ok good idea. just as tractors and other machines made owning slaves more costly. or discovery of oil made the use of whale blubber to costly. tell us a better way that actually works and people will listen. untill then all your doing is making people that want to protect animals sound like nuts.

well ya know...*sigh* .......the grand plan is that I am going to do everything i can feasably (sp?) do everyday to not take part in animal suffering or animal usage. and if everyone did the same then things would slowly take a turn toward the ideal. thats the grand plan...too bad your not onboard.
