No. We just fake our orgasms.

Dude, anything that claims to be a scientific study has to have data that can be reproduced. Period. End of.

I don't want to start getting mad at you, or waste any more time trying to explain.

My friend who is religious and old fashioned and doubtfully considers herself a feminist is building a sex dungeon in her basement lol

    So there's that

Well, as long as it's an old-fashioned, Christian sex dungeon, I don't see what the problem is

I'd have to say the same of you. If you bother to read you would see my understanding of the topic. You are the one who does not seem to get the differences in fields of study.

I do believe I see your understanding of the topic. You don't seem to understand what a scientific study is though, or that all scientific studies must produce results that can be reproduced in order to be valid.

This standard of reproducible results applies to both the hard sciences and social sciences. No study in any field can call itself scientific if its results can't be reproduced.

I can understand how different groups can see things different ways, when asked the same question. This is apart from the question of what standards a valid scientific study must meet.

  7. The majority of the scientific studies I see are not valid. They're just supposed to be fun, I guess. Showering often is bad for you. Milk causes cancer. Dogs are less likely to be gay than cats. And on and on and on.

I wouldn't call this a study--more just like a massive survey, and you have to keep in mind that survey data are notoriously unreliable. The premise of their findings makes sense, but I wouldn't trust these data alone.

Depending on your definition, you could call me a feminist. And I've never faked an orgasm. So, there you go, one more confirmation ;).

I agree. To have a true study I guess we would have to have at least two groups of females, a feminist and non-feminist group. They would then be sent the same lovers for a roll in the hay (not at the same time of course.) None of these women's lovers could know whether it was a feminist or non-feminist they were fucking. A truly accurate method for determining the number of orgasms achieved would also have to be developed and, the really difficult part, none of the participants could know they were being experimented on.

So... A regular Saturday night, except there would be scientists watching.

Well, not if they're watching me. Scientists would see me watching Svengoolie and drinking beer.

Do women who fake orgasms fake the muscle movements or just the surface stuff, the vocal stuff..? Can men really not tell?

I think you will find that some men don't know were a womans G spot is located . So I very much doubt than many would detect a fake orgasm . Is it any wonder that there is a vibrant sex toy market .You only have to look at companies like Love Honey who are doing very well.

Quantitative social research should produce similar results when replicated, much like the natural sciences.

Qualitative social research will not necessarily produce the same results, but is not any less valid as long as it is rigorous. It does not set out to prove causation, but to gain a better understanding of a phenomenon. There is no one correct truth when it comes to the social world.

Do you have a link to the study in question? No worries, if not.

I'm curious as to how you view this as a 'leftist social agenda'? I don't see how this helps to advance society toward socialism.
