I watched the entire Elegant Universe..., and here is a bit of it. I don't know if this is true, but I really love this theory, and find it comforting and exciting!

What do you think about this theory?

Interesting. I think that experimental physicists hate it though.

its basically what every tripper realizes since forever.. the world is a vibration. like a ripple. maybe its a lot of small vibrating strings when you zoom in, but when you zoom out its one big vibration.

    the movie made me hungry.

its still a fractal universe as far as im concerned.

I want to believe in other dimensions right next to us, as the possibilities would be endless then, and could explain many things.....something as simple as ghosts, for instance....as do ghosts have any real matter?...No, so they could possibly travel the dimensions, effortlessly...and be vibrations of the past.

Here is how i think of 'string theory'.

Basically, there are several different types of physics.

    particle physics
    quantum physics
    string theory

Each type of physics is a model of reality used to understand, predict, and control the behavior of the universe.

particle physics is the original physics. It was based on the REFERENCE idea of a 'particle'. So each time something new was discovered it was described as a type of particle. Dark particles. massless particles. Small particles. Negative particles. Positive particles.

Eventually some scientist found the idea of this little ball... a particle... too restrictive. So they developed quantum physics. Where everything is based on the REFERENCE idea of a 'quanta'. A quanta is the smallest unit of anything and does not have to be a particle. It can be a mathematical abstraction.
And so quantum physicists based everything on quanta. And they ended up with quantum relativity. Quantum foam. And quantum gravity. Quantum this and quantum that. In quantum physics particles were actually made from 'quantum flux'.

Then came string physics...err... string theory.

These guys decided instead of creating a model of reality based on particles or mathematical quanta... they would base everyone on strings.

So in string physics... err... string theory, a particle is made from strings. The substrate of reality is made form strings.

At some point strings didn't cut it and they threw in membranes.

Personally, I subscribe to aether physics. Where the substrate of reality is a dynamic fluid.

In the end, whether you are using particle physics, quantum physics, string theory, aether physics, you are just using a model of reality that can never be completely accurate.

and here is my theory on how alternate realities work.

I predict that they are not parallel, but rather interpolated. = share all of the same 'particles' but the particles are in a different arrangement in each 'reality', due to different patterns of quantum entanglement.

It says the video does not exist. Hmm.

I have always been most fascinated by quantum physics, wherein the "God particle" was discovered. I like particles that are so small and that are a law onto themsleves and do not obey and real laws we know of....therein the mystery lies.....
