probably not, buuut, there may be other factors. like where is this food and everything coming from. can it be relied upon to keep doing so? is there anything to stop me from making what i would like with the skills and tools i have and what is there? or are there other people, laws and so on, that would stop me from doing so. and how much of what is there? what kind and how many of trees, minerals, plant and animal life and so on? is any of it inimical? how about tides and elevations? just saying an island, with food and water, well that's a good start, but what about weather conditions? how much shelter will be required? is or may or may not be already there? i like the idea, of being somewhere that physical survival is under no threat, and no social threat against being creative. i'm just pointing out that just saying an island, doesn't automatically imply any of that.
food, shelter, internet and lots of lovely quite, that would do it just fine for me. ocean moderates climate if island is small enough. needs to have small, mostly harmless life forms though. and be just big enough to find odd interesting places. i'm not really big on sand or tropical climates, but i could live with those. being able to do creative things with the rocks and whatever vegetation, trees and what have you, creating and exploring that is the whole thing for me. if the only thing someone else might consider a down side is the lack of human company, i'm so happy. nothing to distract me from dreaming my own dreams and creating and exploring. sounds purrrfect.
if the island is oahu, definitely. i'm sure there's other islands i would enjoy as well. but as a general rule, i would not be down for complete isolation, or even small town isolation like you would get on most inhabited islands.
He is right. If I am surfing on Waikiki, then, no...I would literally NEVER want to leave. Kelia Moniz, perfect longboard waves, pork, mai tais and Kona Brewing Co...nah, I'm good.
No, I would not want to be stranded anywhere. the freedom to come and go as one pleases is a must, as far as I am concerned.
hell yeah i would stay there, fresh air, warm climate, daily sunshine (assuming the island is near the equator) , no chemtrails, no smog, no noise, enough water, enough food unlimited resources (again: assuming island is near equator) , never having to work stupid jobs again, no worrying about bills. first thing i would do is build me a house with twigs and limbs, use palms for roof build-up, very easy, You didnt mention "the only person on the island" so im guessing there are other inhabitants on that island which is good.
When I lived in Hawaii--(on several different islands), it never bothered me at all to be out there in the middle of the Pacific. Some got "island fever" and just HAD to get off the islands and back to the mainland. I would have stayed for all time" if I hadn't had a medical deal. Being with a nice female would be good, but I guess I don't mind being alone. I enjoy my own company, most of the time.
I had a place in the mountains (big island) on 17 acres with a huge banana patch, a melon patch, a lime tree on one side of the porch, a macadamia nut tree on the other side, a small hot tub in a shed outside the back door--you had to build a fire under a partial copper bottom-(when I fired that baby up, all the hippies in the jungle around me came a-calling) and only hippies living in the jungle around me. It was a paradise with an old house in which I lived--------50 BUCKS A MONTH!! That is if--the owner said--I would keep the hippies away!! If he would have driven up there, he might have seen a gang of naked folks lounging around. Never did because I had cut my long hair before I talked to him and he trusted me to keep "those dirty hippies off his property!"(fooled him!)
