The parade would have gone over better if straight people were marginalized in any way. That's why gays and lesbians have these parades, to show solidarity. Straight people had their parade just to poke fun at the others. And it wasn't clever.

To truly put things in their proper perspective there were 100 straight parade marchers (mostly males) but there were some women, with 2,500 counter-protesters.

Earlier this year in Boston during the Gay Pride Parade there were 750,000 marchers and spectators with a few people scattered about holding up religious signs urging the LGBT community to Repent

 

Straight pride parades are not the same with white sheets.

Just like its a coincide the entire republican party is lily white and led by card carrying members of the KKK. Why people don't just start calling republicans "The Klan" I don't know. If they think that will make matters worse, they really don't comprehend lynch mobs. They will bitch about anything, so it really doesn't matter what you call them.

Straight people should take pride in their accomplishments. Today they can marry and live "normal" lives. But we forget that just 50 years ago they were dragged from a straight bar in New York City and beaten and arrested for being who they were.

They have endured so much and earned their rights. They weren't born into them; they had to fight hard for them. Plus, all of the discrimination they've endured over the years...in 2019 you can still be fired for being straight if it conflicts with your gay boss's religious views.

Stay strong, straight folks. The deck is clearly stacked against you.

 

Yes, straight white men should take pride in having the highest rates of rape, divorce, child abuse, abortion, alcoholism, suicide, etc. of anyone in the nation. The white population has been declining faster than all others for many decades, and should be rightful proud of their continuing contribution to population control and the porn industry. There's nothing wrong with people being proud about something, whether straight or gay. To say that only one side has the right to be proud while the other doesn't is plain hypocrisy. It's saying you have a right while denying the same thing to others. Ironically, the left in this case are the intolerant, malicious ones.

I'm usually the centrist in lots of cases, but the last few years has really made me see the left for what they are, and it's not good at all. They are too full of too hate, violence, and maliciousness. They seem to do nothing but slander, insult, and even physically attack everything outside of their view.

 

I wish there were a "Regular People" Pride parade. Of course, it would be poorly attended as regular folks gotta get up early to go to work, school or, it it were on the weekend, we'd be busy mowing the grass, entertaining the goddamn in-laws that showed up unexpectedly or going to butt-awful Walmart for our weekly supplies. Still, it would be a nice thought.

 

Regular people don't parade, they just do regular things and don't let regular happenings regulate their lives.
