Yep I agree and send thanks to those who set up this place for those who want to reconnect! And also I know that there are at least one or two folks from back in the day who are enjoying reading post and seeing that some/most...seems like almost ALL who post have done O.K., are not in an 8 x 8, and many have stayed in touch!!

My BLOOD Sister, Red Head Candy, also sends her best to all who post and to anyone who may read. She is still hanging in there but life is a bit rough for her, She remembers stuff that I forgot(a lot of the memorys I forgot on purrpose)

Hey IR (Itchy Ritchie) I found that blog that you post at too. I have posted there about 4 or 5 times. I am fairly sure you and I were on the dame streets at the same time but I am drawing a blank? Do you remember me or Greg and when the Stabbing up at peaceful Valley to Greg with the tree limb? Or maybe when I was in the Cave in Back of the Valley after I left the ridge? How bout some of the Vigelante assholes who were on a trar up there back then!?

 

you mean Living close t.t.gr? That's a good site. I spent most of my time in Boulder on the hill, and in Boulders finest hotel staring fat depitty Delay in the face. My memory of hostiles runs together in my mind, I spent alot of time nursing my own wounds, I don't always remember otherwise, I do remember Buddy, and Gregg?

 

Yep IR then we were there togather. Buddy is the father of my sisters kid Cody. Buddy, Greg, both came out the year that I came back to D.C. area where we all hung out! I came to Boulder right after Woodstock then back to D.C. Burbs then left back. Buddy and Greg came out that year too. I THINK it may have been 1970 by then. You should also remember J.D. then too??

Ichie did you live up on the Ridge at any time?? Up above P.V. when the Hippies were Camping in the Valley all over and that big Tee Pee? Later Greg and I moved into the little Cabin but that was more like 72 maybe?? Cjxx moved in there after that. ORr were you in Town most of the time at Dianes place? Remember when Ava and Derry(now Daisy Mae) were living on the Campus? I was in Boulder the day when the riots happened due to the Kent State shootings. Me Greg Buddy also Knew Alyson Krouse who was shot at Kent State She went to Kennedy H.S. in Silver Spring MD.

That day was crazed as the Big glass windows at the Bookstore were smashed, the Drug store was taken over for a while and the Students came crashing over to the Hill and all the shit went flying!!

My dog was the Black Shepard with the white chest.

AH YES Delay he was the Grey house Officer who along with Chastain had an ISSUE with all the STREET people!!

I am trying to place those back in my brain to remember the faces. Do you remember that little heater hut on top of Tulogies where you could go get warm and divy up the take from working the streets??

Man after 1970 the crackdown were more intense!

Hi, I'm new on here. I grew up near Broomfield and would hitch rides into Boulder to hang out on the Hill ca '69-'71. I was a young kid, but got to know the STP family on the streets, at the shows in the park (Zephyr!) and then would ride up the Canyon to Nederland etc.

A few years ago I googled "STP family" and found a different forum where folks were writing in. They also posted snapshots from that era. Those images meant a lot to me as I recognized so many faces in them. I recently tried to find them online again, but they're gone, or at least I couldn't find that forum. Anyone here know what I'm talking about?

2ndly: I'm a writer and the editor a county-wide alternative paper in western NY state, called the Chautauqua Region Word (yep, there's a Chautauqua out here too). I'm very interested in the histories of the various families, and am starting to formulate the idea of an oral history of same. A book with many voices relating the story of this unsung scene. I'm curious to hear comment from any of you on this.

 

Chris, I stayed on campus with a Diane, beautiful girl, took to family, wonder if she was the same. JD, Buddy, Greg, and Boogie Joe were the only ones who could really take off jamming in the park. Everybody else was stuck on "House of the rising sun" it seems. B. Joe would play the harp 'til the blood was spraying everyone near him. I got there from New York in March '72, and hung with Granny, Tony, Jamie, Dale, Nancy, and Bear, and who ever wandered into the Central park. I lived in the bushes by Boulder creek alot, Fetch used to come by and sleep on my head, we always had (have) dogs...remember Sorcerer and Brouha?

I think it's neat hearing from people who met us as kids. In those days I was mostly just lookin for a bush to drink in where the cops wouldn't roust me. I never thought about what the locals thought of us.

Oh Yeah,sorry it took so long .I remember I cook a mean porcupine too.. Remember the quills got everywhere outside ,I think cause some dogs got into them?Lol what a mess that was.Connie
