oddly enough, the smell i associate with stores is the smell of new stuff. and of packaging materials. though associating with and actually smelling are a couple of entirely different things. i loved the day of hippie brick and mortar storefronts with their innovative door chimes and unique varieties of home made incense. most of them didn't carry a whole lot of stuff i was interested in, but some did. mostly the book stores and restaurants.
i thought about drinking gas all the time as a kid. i'm actually kind of surprised you never really hear about it happening.
I'm glad you mentioned cabinetry. leaving it as 'I like the smell of wood' would have had me mopping up coffee.
I'm sure it has happened at some point. If these kids are eating Tide pods on a dare, someone has drank some frickin gas. I'm going to do an Internet search right now.
that's what i assumed. which is why i'm sure we would have heard about it if it ever really happened. kids find all kinds of ways to hurt and/or kill themselves, and we hear about all of them. maybe gas smells disgusting to everyone who isn't a hipforums member.
yeah. it's like that in here. cross between a 'curiosity' shop, an antique store, and one of those oddity museums. just stay out of the 'back room' it's sketchy. lol
family dollar smells like fragrant toilet bowl cleaner. they ship all non food items in the same truck.
I've never noticed this but now that you mention it, I want to go huff some Target so I can contribute. That being said, someone mentioned a book store. They need to figure out the way to take the smell of a new book and turn it into a scented candle. I'll stick my nose into a book and inhale deeply every once in awhile while reading.
Guitar shops have a smell i like and some gun shops with s/h racks I used to like the smell of Woolworths stores when I was a kid ! Smells are very evocative
