    Well said.

As I was reading through this thread, I also noticed quite a number of people labelling suicide as "selfish". I have heard this argument numerous times and never quite understood it.

Is it not more selfish of the family and friends of a suicidal person to want said person to stay alive - even if they have lost all will to live? Are they not thinking of their own pain and lives and how they will be affected after the person is gone?

    Just putting that out there...

it's rediculous for people to say a suicidal person is selfish . Don't you think there are other factors involved other that "being selfish" when it comes to suicide?

When you've reached that point where you feel like you're in a hole, where you feel like there's nothing and no one who can help you get back up, when you've lost all hope and everything you see around you only makes you feel more and more down and depressed... It's not a great feeling. It changes who you are. Things don't make sense to you like they used to.

So those of you who use the usual "what a selfish asshole" approach, how about you take a step back and try to realize that you have no idea what he (or anyone else in that situation's) has been through to make him feel like his only option was to take away his own life.

That aside, He was great.. his music was great, he did so much for music, and he was awesome on guitar. not many people treat a guitar like it's an extension of their body. He did.

yes, I'm glad you're amused by it.

We're all entitled to have an opinion, but your response shows a lot about you, so there's no need to go further with the issue.

Why didn't you then... Seems like someone so easily able too would have written a bunch of songs by now and made the same kind of money Nirvana did.

Complaining about how complex a composition is is rather silly... All of the greatest bands in the world have had songs that consisted of no more than 3 or even 2 chords. We all know that composition and composition alone is not what makes a song a song.

If he was really that bad, why do so many like him?
Now... I hate U2, but a lot of people like him... I can't really say that they are bad, because there is something about them that appeals to everyone else... I think they are bullshit scumbags who rely on the same tricks over and over again. But they are good at what they do... and they obviously know how to play their instruments to some degree.

In thinks your feelings are the same as mine.. I play in a band got a decent following... yet not imortal like a whining clown from Seattle. Dont really care to be imortal either. But if he added anything to what its like being depressed and isolated..
I think Roger wrote it best in the Wall..

The Wall the is the easiest composition to play.. assending decending Whole notes...
    A, D, G.. pttf Flange........

David Gilmore hardly leaves a BM C, A.. just agumenting cords to sound layered and its like 20 musicians on the album and a year of mixing in a studio....

To many American idols and overnight success garbage....

Really if anyone from Nirvana made a impact it was David Grohol.

Your suicide jokes are really annoying and Nirvana worked hard for what they wanted. They weren't like the people on american idol, and they deserve more respect than you give them.

What do you mean "seems to be"? Grunge passed before 1995 and was never heard from again on the radio. And you could say the same thing about any genre of music from the beginning of time. You'll say that about what you're listening to right now in a few years.

You're kidding, right? He makes even poppier, more forgettable music than Nirvana ever did. You're being hypocritical and showing everyone that you simply don't like Kurt Cobain but have no real reasons for it. But I think you already knew that.

Anyway, this discussion went nowhere since most of the people who are hating on Cobain in this thread are stupid, which is surprising since I always thought Nirvana fans were the stupid ones. I guess you learn something new every day. - Later

How long have you been listening to music?
