Rude Awakenings! Honesty bereft any real authenticity, Is the surefire path to instant enlightenment! For Mother Nature has a wicked sense of humor, And when the student is poorly prepared, The master can be rudely awakened! That's my way of saying, The minute you think you know all the answers, You have become your own worst student, And nobody's master, Setting yourself up for a rude awakening! That's why Murphy was always the optimist in my family, After a few drinks, While I required more proof! But, Murphy remained steadfastly optimistic, Right up until the pie hit him in the face! The Irish get that way sometimes. A few of us can't hold their liquor, So we learned to work on our sense of humor!
Dude, again No one thinks these countries are socialist. Democratic socialism and social democracies are the same damn thing Its like your brain only hears the word "socialism " so you run with it without bothering to find out what Democratic Socialism actually means...then you come back and try to argue that these countries arent socialist, which is exactly what i've been trying to tell you Lol this is absurb And if you wanna argue the definition of democratic socialism I'm not interested in a semantics argument and we can call them social democracies if you prefer. But they dont have anything in common with authoritarian socialist regimes at any rate.
Maybe its better to let you explain what your point exactly is rambling about socialism in this particular thread like you're straight from the 1950s? You get alot of replies of people nuancing your statements, which seem very informative overall. But you seem set on acting like they're the ones with a fixed and very specific view on socialism. Although its your talk that is about the pure form, which is neither what Russia has, or what russian trolls are on about (the actual thread topic), nor what any other person here is advocating or favoring. Its just you who insist like there's a point going on about pure socialism in here. Why? Thanks in advance for clarifying
What is Bernie's socialism? What industries does he want to nationalize? In the 2016 race, he was talking mainly protectionism (like Trump is doing), free college tuition (but Mexico won't pay for it), and getting Citizens United v. FEC overturned (a really worthy objective, but one leaving ordinary voters unexcited). What else? I don't worry much about Bernie, since if he should ever win the election (an unlikely prospect) he'd have trouble getting his newly adopted party to go along with him on anything really radical. Besides, he'd be 78, a bit long in the tooth for a presidential race and therefore likely to be a one-term president. I doubt that he could do anything too revolutionary under those circumstances.
Hey, I'm on board for this mixed economy. Are you? Is Paul Ryan? "With the highest tax rate in the country of 56.6%, Sweden comes in as the second-highest tax rate in the world. In fact, Sweden is one of eight countries in Europe to make the list of countries with the highest income taxes in the world. Sweden also has the highest tax rate in Scandinavia. Sweden's top tax rate affects people making $81,000 or more. These taxes fund a generous social security program as Sweden spends more of its GDP on social services than any other country in the world. Swedes receive free education and subsidized healthcare and public transport, along with a basic pension guaranteed by the government." 10 Countries With the Highest Tax Rate Sweden: Where tax goes up to 60 per cent, and everybody's happy paying it Washington Post: Breaking News, World, US, DC News & Analysis
No. The less socialism he better. Socialism robs people of their individuality. However I can make small compromises for it here and there. I’m not sure. Only if his wife's boyfriend is OK with it I suppose.
Before the 2016 election he is on video saying breadlines were a good thing because the rich and poor are in the same lines for the same shitty quality gubbermint food. If he still stands by those words to this day. Then count me out of his version of socialism.
Yeah so back on topic. It’s actuallu sad to see hat democrat voters and Sanders supporters are more interested in the Russian conspiracy than they are about the fact that Wasserman-Shultz and the DNC cheated the better candidate out of an honest election. All in the name of promoting the politics-as-usual candidate. Through media manipulation, they’ve convinced these sheep that the Russians cheated the election for Bernie Sanders and Hillary.
It's sad to see Republican voters dismiss anything about Russia. Two separate issues. The DNC cheated Bernie but the Russians also supported Bernie to divide the democratic party. It has nothing to with Bernie's actual polices like some want to say. Like the USSR wants the "socialist" so America will be communist. No, it's all done to place Trump where he is. Considering he still did not get 51% of the vote and won on electoral system without the Russians playing America's hate for Don and Hillary we could easily have Hillary. I don't know who you talk to that makes you think people are not upset over Bernie. But the more importance issue at the moment is the man who listens to a foreign dictator who has access to nuclear codes and classified military movements.
I remember him saying that. I think he meant it was good compared to people starving or trying to steal food.
Lol It was already put in the proper context the first time Sanders' breadlines comment was (ab)used by 6-eyed, which was probably not the only time and over a year ago. Expect him to try it another time next year. He's more busy with extremes than the actual reality of things. Seems to be the case with socialism, feminism, genders, muslims etc. etc.
