My father ain't dead... he's worse than that... he's alive yet completely lost... his soul would get some rest if he was dead. ...and Frank, you're making assumptions, while I'm stating a fact... You are indeed an asshole.
Uh... just because its a fact doesn't make it the truth numb nuts... That just means its a fact for you.
Like father, like son... And sonny-boy, saying "My father ain't dead... he's worse than that... he's alive yet completely lost... his soul would get some rest if he was dead." is itself an assumption. You are assuming that being dead is worse than being alive. You are assuming being drunk is "lost." And you assume his soul would get some rest if he were dead. Funny comment about the afterlife from an atheist. At any rate, in many of your other posts you talk of your love of coke, crack, pot, and what not. You seem to have one thing in common with your father: an addeictive personality. Like daddy, like son. That's a fact. Thus, I can say to you: "You ain't dead... you're worse than that... you're alive yet completely lost... your soul would get some rest if you were dead." Fact, according to you. Now, be a good boy and go smoke some more crack.
Very classy Franklin, just lovely. I'm tired of arguing with you, and especially of your completely idiotic assumptions about me and my family. You have no argument skills... it's useless to talk to you. I'm going to be the bigger man here Frank, and say "Have a nice day" before you get yourself banned... but I do warn... I will report your posts to Skip and to the moderators of this forum if you keep it up.
This statement makes absolutely no sense, if something is a fact, it is the truth, if something is the truth, that makes it a fact. Fact/truth are synonymous words.
Let’s see...I posted on this “coke & asprin” forum on March 27, complaining about the Greeks...then you replied on April 11th with your "classy" Let's see...calling an argument "idiotic" and telling people to "grow up"...yah, that's really classy. I agreed with moonshyne's observation that you were out of line with the rather benign and you said: Now, that's classy. And lovely. A word of advice: don't go calling people assholes, then run and whine to the mods. As far as your "argument skills" go... you couldn't argue your way out of a paper bag. Stick to smoking crack.
You didn't give any "FACTS", you rattled off a couple of numbers about economic growth. Growth does not equal human rights, as is evident in countries like china and the one you currently reside in. Once again, you also rambled on about how SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people will rot and die if the corps were made to treat them like human beings. I ask you to show me. Show me another country that has rotted off the face of the earth due to advances in human/workers rights and decent child labor laws. I promise, if you can give me substantial evidence of such, I will shut the fuck up forever.
I'm done with you Frank. Treating people like "Human" beings would cost the corporations money. The only reason for them being in 3rd world countries is the cheapness of it all. They would just leave. Want sources? Gooooogle for them, I myself am tired.
Brave Sir Rubin ran away. Bravely ran away away. When danger reared it's ugly head, He bravely turned his tail and fled. Yes, brave Sir Rubin turned about And gallantly he chickened out. Bravely taking to his feet, He beat a very brave retreat. Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Rubin!
Nah dude, you are wrong. Facts are much like beliefs, you can believe that they are true only because you have been informed so. Someone could say that a triangle is a four sided regular polygon and believe it to be a fact, when they are acutally wrong.
Coke simply frranchises out the right to use their Logo to local companies. Ever had a Coke purchased in a country not attatched to the North American continent? I bet not. trust me, its not even the same thing, just the same logo.
they would just leave because you say so, and being GOD we know your word is law, right? It's not like you need to actually show that your words have any validity to them at all. Tired huh? that figures. I wasn't expecting much, and that's exactly what I got. I'm not asking you to do hardcore research or prove that Heaven and hell exist, I'm asking you to back up your statements. To be honest, I actually tried to google that information last night to make sure I wasn't making an ass of myself and you know what I found? That's right, nothing. You have no arguement. You're just too full of yourself to admit it.
I wouldn't stop drinking coke if the factories were run by child laborers and Hitler was receiving the paycheck.
I'm tired of people with confidence issues trying to prove themselves superior over the internet. Also, dear lady, I have absolutely nothing to prove to you. I cannot possibly care less who would win this argument, it won't change anything either way... I was trying to provide you with a different perspective, which you rejected. Oh well, your loss. Don't expect me to keep us this point to point discussion which will lead to nothing as it is. Maybe we can meet for coffee someday and discuss this like people, not like some fictious internet opponents.
I'm going to back up Pavel here. It's a myth that simply raising the minimum wage/labour standards are going to somehow magically create wealth and spread it around. What it will create is wage-price spiral, resulting in heavy (if not hyper) inflation. Which has been a lasting and severe problem in much of central and south America, and is certainly of no benefit to the poor. No, the real fact is that the only way to create wealth (and thus raise living standards) is a slow process of economy building. Hence, they need to look at long-term growth and investment, rather than quick fixes.
But that is the problem; American corporations aren't going to let Central Amercian countries build their economies. American corporations have already invested--in corrupt governments friendly to US business interests. After all, we love those twenty-nine cents a pound bananas.
I don't believe I ever suggested raising min wage would be a cure-all miracle. When that issue was just brought up here in the states, sprout and I were actually worried about a potential wage increase, because these companies usually raise the price of everything else they sell to compensate for it. Though, I do think that improving working conditions would make an entire world of difference immediately. As for you rubin, I think it's just time for us to agree to disagree, and be done with it. The last thing I will say about it is this: You shouldn't make statements and try to push them as truth, and them claim to be beyond trying to prove yourself to anyone. You don't have anything to prove to me. I do ask though that people who try to argue a point at least have the information to back up their statements. Believe anything you want, but don't try to pass it off as a valid point if you aren't willing to support your own argument.
Spooooona is right... and part of building the economy is allowing international investment. Dear lady, let us agree to disagree. I would suggest traveling to Central America and experiencing this for yourself. I have lived in Honduras for 7 years and have backpacked most of Central America, believe me... I do not just make assumptions.
