Stonewall Non-Blurb by Shale September 25, 2015 I am conflicted this weekend. There are no movies playing that I really must see, (With acrophobia and possible vertigo, Everest is not on my must see list) so guess I will scrounge thru my DVD collection to find a movie fix. I would see Stonewall but it is being panned by reviewers, both gay and str8 for things other than its fictionalizing an actual historic movement. Cute White Guy Focus See More about Stonewall Here: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/art/stonewall-movie/ I was not at the Stonewall Riots in 1969. I was exploring my expanded sexuality with men and women in New Orleans, a rather insular focus at the time. So, guess I have to take the accounts of ppl who actually were there - and they say the movie is pretty much hocum. So, lemme see what DVDs I have. Far From Heaven? Probably an accurate portrayal of closeted gay family men from a time that I remember but a bit of a downer. Woodstock? A happier happening in 1969, a year before my own sequel at the Atlanta Pop Festival and a real documentary. Chasing Amy? A later portrayal of internal gay/str8 infighting where bisexuality is not accepted by all. Trick? A cute rom-com with two cute guys trying to hook up in NYC with no one harassing them - a good result coming from the historic Stonewall Riots. Yeah, that might be a good way to celebrate this history. 2 Cute Guys On the Streets of NYC
