I SHOULD be laying down since I start with an early, very busy day...and it (the busyness) just keeps on all day. But its good busy.

My phone appt with social security (for drawing retirement) is this coming Monday (8/6) at 1:00. They left me a message to remind me, and I wish they put in their message if there is anything I need to have in front of me. Without being prompted, I'll have my bank account number and routing number Right There beside the phone. I'm looking forward to it and also a bit nervous. Why in the world I should be nervous is beyond me, and really makes no sense.

When I let myself think about this - that my brother and his spouse told me repeatedly to wait until I am 67 to file and draw SS retirement - it makes me laugh and/or giggle every time. The brother is super good in math and probabilities, etc . I watched and listed to more advice about this on the internet than y'all can imagine, damn countless stories and advice in fact. Then to sort of drive home what the vast majority advise (on drawing early)...I think of what my bff told me...her husband died at 64, and only drew 16 checks for his years and years of work.

So yeah, it would be nice if it was guaranteed - and I mean guaranDAMNteed that I would live to 67 I might would consider it...

no I wouldn't.

With me having this job that doesn't pay, and I really don't see it ending in the anywhere near future, I think it would be more than stupid to not draw SS retirement ASAP. There is this one youtube vid that shows you how to figure out (some formula) how long you would have to draw to make waiting justifiable. lol

I'm also selling around 20 acres of land to the rock quarry (still have 17 acres left). Jan 2019..and that will be my cushion...and the way to fix things in this house that should have been fixed years ago. Thank God my man friend is super smart and handy and the absolute opposite of lazy...so I'm super stoked that I'll have someone to help with the physical things that I will be able to buy.


I am honestly grateful that this type of money did not come my way when I was younger...I have no doubt I would't have spent it wisely.

My next big step (after SS kicks in) is to find a sitter for Mama so that at least once in a while I can go out at night (IMAGINE!) from time to time. She she is healthy, she will fight me every step of the way on this, but that's fine...she can then fuss at whomever I hire. lol With her being healthy, finding someone to sit with her for say 4 to 5 hours at night shouldn't be too hard. I feel it would be much harder finding someone during the day when The Mother simply MUST go in and out of the house(reasons unknown) at the very least 20 times a day.

lynn- sounds like you have the majority of your ducks in a row, thats great! try not to be too nervous. just make sure not to let any of it burn through your pocket. im really good at not spending. hubby... eh... not so much. just keep that cushion safe!

i used to spin the globe and try to find Kuwait as fast as i could. used to sit and watch the news with my parents. i was just under 5. im so glad my parents didnt shield me from reality. if i had been coddled i would have ended up like so many of my entitled ass age-mates, and those younger. fuck that noise.
