Irmi: if you read better and do not take every critical comment as a personal attack you would see im not calling you a nazi in anyway or am talking shit about you.

I can't make a comment about your posts regarding those subjects without you taking it personal. But its really about the subject matter and the exact contents, in this instance that hotwater (or others who read those posts) can't be blamed for joking about that. You even seem to agree with that, at least where it comes to hotwater

I was very shallow as a preteen.
I basically just thought Posh was the prettiest and that's why I liked her

Half baked is on Netflix here. I thought it was ok. It's only for stoners clearly. I can only see Clueless easily/on the short term if its also on there :p These are the times we live in folks.... I used to be able to go to a videostore and hire it. Now i have to buy it or depend on a streaming service

Yeah me too. I actually liked Baby for the same reason. Sporty is just who I'd say now. Funny how these things change. Same kind of age I liked Rachel in friends because I thought she was prettiest and now it's obviously pheobe because she's the cool artistic weird one. Now I have better taste in people I also have better taste in TV and don't watch this stuff : )

  7. I guess for some people the sheer fun of being in the computer generated land of Avatar eclipses the fact that it's an unoriginal movie. It's not that much fun for others, though. But that's all subjective. What's fun for one person isn't always fun for the next.

I don't consider Avatar fun, because the main characters are both exceptionally good looking. I don't fit into that paradigm of being a good looking person doing heroic things. It would have been more fun if the characters hadn't been humanoid at all. They should have been puppets.

Puppets is my solution to everything. Make everything puppets.

I think people go to see Avatar because they're convinced its using some kind of revolutionary technology that will make them see things no one has ever seen before. That's always been my sense of it. The sequel will be in 3D or something. Only the 3D won't let up, until you're just watching shapes dance in front of you. Something must be found in every single shot to be 3D. Just don't take off the glasses.

I initially saw it before I ever smoked pot and found it hilarious. There are so many quotable lines.

I have similar thoughts about the 3d thing. It doesn't appeal to me at all. But i watched Avatar in 2d.

There are? I recall it as a typical stoner comedy (which I generally also enjoy many times better with a J). Guess its time for a rewatch

Me too, although obviously I didn't admit that and they were just a stupid band my sister liked.

Most preteens are either like Mel and Drifty or like you Eggsprog. Just saying, it wasn't you, its the preteen thing. I notice the careless shallowness in my nieces too. It's mainly fun because I'm not confronted with it all day or responsible for them :-D

Definitely during my adolescents they were. I probably wouldn't go around reciting some of them today but they still stick in the back of my mind in certain situations and some are pop culture references that have probably been obscured by time.

My best friends growing up wanted to make Spice Girls and Hanson music videos, I wasn't having any part of it. I drifted from that circle for a few years.

I was actually pretty cool as a preteen and young teen. I was super into Nirvana and all the "alternative" music of the era
But Hanson and the Spice Girls were my guilty pleasures

Nigga, you ain't got to explain shit
I've been robbing motherfuckas since the slave ships
With the same clip and the same .45
Two point blank, a motherfucker sure to die

No one is cool as a preteen. Certainly not self proclaimed :D
btw: I was into Metallica and also shallow; i was really, really displeased when they cut their hair around the release of the black album :-D

I recall playing with plastic army soldiers and tanks and stuff while having Nirvana - Nevermind playing :grinning:

I had seen the music video for Enter Sandman but Load was really the first Metallica album I knew, so I didn't comprehend the gravitas of their hair cuts at the time.
