I was just reading up on the difficulty of a banjo and they said it's probably harder than guitar BUT!! If you struggle to learn guitar, then the banjo might be easier and vice versa. something about how a 5 string banjo is already in G tuning. So that gives me moderate - no hope and the banjo I have my eye on is 5 strings.
