I don't understand charts and graphs. Like some wavy ass lines is gonna tell me what to think and believe.

And what about those people who make graphs and charts? Like what's the go with them anyway? :p

lol my son's best friend since they were in Jr High (and they are both 34 now) is what is called a Zen master - but not what you think...he works at the local university PLUS (and this is where the Zen Master thing comes in) does this big thing where he arranges data (any and all kind of data) into all kinds of charts, graphs, and any kind of combination of the 2, and probably any other kind of data visualization there is. I think they call it data visualization, or something like that with the word visualization in it. He always travels out west - to Las Vegas, Arizona or some such for their yearly meetings and awards. Matt is really good, and is in the top 3 in the US. Its really neat in a way.

He's a good guy (husband and father) too! :)

For some reason Pacman looks like a timber log with a wedge cut out and a harder wedge driven into that wedge to like.. Wedge it there. To me anyway.

I had to think at least 10 secs for the Morgan Freeman one so I don't think it initially helped. :p

no worries, i think its perfectly reasonable for you not to be thrilled by certain pies.
different strokes for different folks and all....
i like a variety of pies, some more appropriate than others.

I have been on the pool table also this morning. Starting to get my eye in. Actually hitting decent. Was rough for first few days but getting back into it. Got about 3 months before the next season so I want to go in hitting solid. Need to get back into top 100.

(sorry for large photos from my phone)

Here is what I am practicing. In the first two photos I give the example. I need to sink the red and get position on the 8. Now the 8 is in a tricky position albeit it looks easy. It's close enough to the side cushion that playing safe and soft on the red will put too much of an angle to safely pot the 8.also, the angle of the red means if you hit the cue ball too hard, it'll actually deflect right, off the side cushion and you could end up with the cue ball above the black which is not good at all.

So the solution? I need to use top left hand English. In my 2nd set of photos, the blue dot on the cueball is where I am hitting it, slightly to the left and top. (ignore the red dots on the cueball thats just my ball)

Now using top left means that on initial contact with the cue ball, it won't go straight, it will throw to the right and then correct itself the more distance it rolls. So the tricky part of lining up the shot is aiming for the throw. In the case I'm actually aiming dead centre of the red ball knowing the my top left English + the power I am using will hit the sweet spot. The red should sink but more importantly, the cue ball should A) hit the cushion harder because of the top spin and bring it back across the table and B) the left side English should stop the cue ball from deflecting off the cushion and above the 8.

I drew a yellow aim line and cue ball travel line that I thought might happen.

The result? Perfect placement to win the game. :)

Now sure, I could have played safe and left the white around where the red was and given myself shot to win the game with a cut, but it's safe play like that, that loses me games. So I need to be aggressive. I need to take chance with confidence to give me the ability to sink that ball with spin and perfect the placement to win the match. And that's what I did here. :)

I'm really looking forward to making a Halloween pumpkin pie. English people, on the whole, don't seem to understand them.

    Show pictures!

I did not grow any and I regret it. Last year had a lovely one that had self seeded, but where a watermelon had been.. So for a while we were assuming it was a watermelon.
