And I for one am not looking for such tracks in gangsta hip hop anyway. Rather listen to Gimme the loot any day. That Tupac is seen as something more than a wannabe gangsta thug because of it, while at the same time posing as a typical one is exactly what's so irritating... But yeah, they were great and are unrivaled in rock imo. Brilliant stuff, both in sound as in the lyrics. Which complimented eachother greatly.

 

I have a coworker that doesn't like The Doors either. I like The Doors, The eerie-ness of the music is some of their mystique, while most all the California bands were doing like trippy surf music or trippy folk music, they maintained a California sound but a lot of it much more hypnotic and captivating in a way that I think has aged better.
