I feel like a bit of a dick this morning. Hit the beach early on to benefit from the epic waves due to hurricane Sergio. I was hooting and hollering and having a great time.

Then I remembered what hurricane Michael had done to our East Coast bretheren and suddenly felt wrong. I packed up and headed home.

I don't know, when a tragedy doesn't affect you directly, it's easy to dismiss it and go on with life. Maybe that's wrong. Maybe we as humans should have more empathy.

 

Yeah, but to play devil's advocate, tragedy happens all day every day. If there is nothing you can do about it, then no point in beating yourself up about it.

 

If I had the money I would get this car. 700$ niles oh. right now.

 

they have new rules here regarding safety certificates......the did away with the air test every 2 years and put in way harder rules to pass the safety instead….people like me who drive vehicles that are old and clinging to life are now screwed

Costs a little more that $700.... not outrageously expensive though, considering. (price of old cars are ALL outrageously expensive in reality)

 

My little Toyota is 10 years old, has 220,000km+ and still runs like a champion. Holding on to it as log as I can.

planting out tulips and daffodils, prepping to do the crocus and the garlic (have to set up the garlic bed, thats probably tomorrow) splitting and spreading out the yarrow babies. harvesting some of the artichoke seeds (one variety, the globe artichokes i will do separately) tore down some morning glories, gathering those seeds. need to tear out the arugula, and dance around the backyard with the stalks to spread more seed. im a dirty yard fucker. i spread my seed all over! the 2 squashes we have growing will be straw mulched tomorrow in prep for sunday, i want them to have a chance to fully ripen so the seeds will be usable. so fingers crossed.

and we met a wee little garter snake. surprised me, but an impromptu herpetology lesson for the boy. im so glad our yard is a happy home for a little snake, i hope it has a warm spot for sunday. i might build a little snake house near where i found it. a nice flat rock, over a little woodchippy hollow. that area will get decent winter sun. i love my yard critters, and i love my re-wilding yard. only stupid dummy heads think its ugly. they just arent smart enough to know why they should like it.
if anyone has good snake puns, this would be the place to put them. im going to need to make a little sign for my little snake motel.

looked famiar so I asked my biker buddy if it is same as his...it is...his is a 51...is that really for sale?...how much?

 

This one is a 53... Asking about $5000, negotiable.

Has a 350 V8, 4 speed and newer rear axle. It's an older hot rod, not sure when it was done but it's been parked for awhile. Runs and drives, apparently. I haven't seen it in person.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I can't get this car out of my head...
