If we get 2 flakes of snow on a windshield in Atlanta, the grocery stores are swamped. The milk and bread are gone as well as most of the bottled water. It's hilarious to watch actually. And companies often let people telecommute on "snow" days. Bwahahahahahahaha

 

Just drive around town with go-ogle maps street view. Always good for a few laughs.

It is a very exclusive and rich area. It's long since been taken over my movie stars and whatnot. But it's pretty much ground zero for modern surfing. It's the surfing equivalent of, say, the old Maple Leaf Gardens. Trying to find the right analogy.

It's not a city, but it's not a small town either. Used to be just like any other beach town, now it's a beach town with serious money--another area gentrified over the years. But yeah, a lot of everyday folk hangout in Malibu, but those who find the perfect waves, the dive bars, the pier, and seafood joints the real charm, cannot afford to live there--myself included. So on the one hand, it's celebrities and plastic surgeons, and galleries and mansions, and the elite 1%. And the other hand, it's sunsets over the water, beachbums, fish tacos, point breaks stalled by the very offshore winds that are fueling this fire. It's Duke's, it's Surfrider Beach, it's sharing a Neptune's Net Sampler and a couple of pitchers with your surfing buddies while warming up in the afternoon sun, eating right on the patio barefoot and in wetsuits and bathing suits. It's...perfect.
