I am going to see The War on Drugs perform in concert tomorrow night.... one of my favorite bands making music at the moment.

They have kind of a nice sound. I'm not blown away though. The lyrics seem kind of hazy. I guess they mostly wanted the lyrics to blend with the music rather than being anything people would pay attention to.

Nice! I've heard some of their music but not enough to say I'm really familiar with them. That video makes me think of music I sometimes hear on NPR in the evenings. But that's cool because that's why I'm listening to NPR in the evenings sometimes. Enjoy the show. Have you seen them before?

 

Pressed Rat actually introduced me to this band last year. I really like them.

I've never seen them before, which is why I am so psyched for the show. Their album from last year, 'Lost in the Dream', is one of my favorite albums from the past five years, and has been in pretty steady rotation since I discovered it. Almost every song on the album is excellent. And while their sound is a bit more pedestrian than what I normally listen to, the musicianship and the quality of their material is what draws me in. They are often compared to 70's Dylan and the heartland rock of people like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, but with a dreamy, often hazy quality that none of the aforementioned have.

 

I never have heard of this group before, but I llistened to your link and really liked it and the group. have alot of fun!

 

When I watched that video, there was something that made me think of Springsteen but maybe a little more modern or new age version. Good stuff.

 

This concert was so fucking good. Really worth the $27 I spent. I got there early, so I was right up in front of the stage. Got lots of pictures!

 

Always something great about live music, especially close to the stage! Way worth the cash.
