I honestly don't view females and males any differently mentally, the way we're conditioned to view things is what makes us different. I don't think my desire to wear makeup is feminine in any way... I don't associate makeup with females the same way I don't associate pants with males (although people did once, time changes peoples views) Not all vegetarians do it out of sympathy for animals either... some simply do it for health reasons. I don't feel sorry for the animals I eat, because I have to eat to live. If you want to get technical, plants are alive too, but no one care's about that.... there's those socially conditioned responses again. Unless you're a plant, something has to die for you to live, that's what it boils down to.
I never said all do, but males that do it out of sympathy aren't your typical guy. Most guys I know enjoy killing frogs and stomping bugs
Well I base what I say from what someone with a phD in psychology told me. So thats what I base my opinion off of
well I have good friends that are gay and are good people, so I'll take that as a compliment speaking of which, there are lots of ways to wear makeup... pretty much every guy you see in a movie is wearing makeup, doesn't have to necessarily be applied in the general way its thought of.
Are you from peta? I'm quite happy to make my informed choice to eat meat, albeit at a frequency of less than once a month, a good balance I think.
A phD has nothing to do with truth. I base my opinion off of what I've personally experienced in my own life... so thats what I base my opinion off of.
this might be why we have different opinions, I typically don't hang out with people that enjoy killing frogs and stomping bugs... from my point of view, that's very "grade school" and immature and I certainly wouldn't view it as being of your "typical guy". Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.
I'm not really sure why it matters that someone else wears make-up?? Some guys look good with it on, others don't, and if a man is confident enough to wear it then so be it. I don't think corpse paint or animal blood looks good but apparently some do. It's all difference of opinion.
Errrrrr hormones & the multitude of other physical things that have an effect on gender identity. But conditioning does play a role :cheers2:
I'm a supporter of science as well, I just don't think that a phD makes your opinion any more valid. Besides... the view of one guy, regarldless of their credentials can hardly be called science
I respect people with PhDs mainly due to the fact that they spend the majority of their life studying a specific field of science. And science is known as the search for truth. I don't believe everything they say because as we know alot of it is just theories, but alot of what they say also makes alot of sense to me anyways
I'd think we'd both agree that both sexes have their share of both hormones, right? that is... testosterone isn't specific to males nor is estrogen specific to females, correct? would it also be safe to say that the levels of each can be influenced by environment? science is ever changing...
but then all of you grew up... key words there Anyways... enjoyed the discussion, but now its time for me to get back to work, I've been putting it off for too long lol. Pat... knottyblonde... thanks for listening and now I'm off to lunch haha
Yes. And what I believe is that guys with "female" habits probly have more female hormones coming in. Same with girls who are more butch lol and I could believe it and Word
