People assume I like the Grateful Dead (they are OK, but not my favorite).

I've also had people assume I use drugs...which I don't...

And my favorite...when I go into stores, sometimes I get followed...like I'm going to steal something...That's probably one of the worst and most insulting...Apparently having locks makes you a criminal

 

I got followed around in shops even pre locks, back whensome might have said that i even looked respectable. I think thats more about youth than hair style.

 

I don't think it's necessarily youth. I think it's the whole package. The way you wear your hair, the way you dress, if you carry a backpack...etc.

 

Locks make you a bum and everybody knows bums steal... ...must be quite a pain in the ass, though.

 

when my grandfather found out i was growing dreads he said something quite ironic around the lines of "if i wanted to see dreadlocks I could go to Wal-Mart and see a white girl who dates a black guy" or something odd like that...i think he had corn rows and dread locks mixed, but nevertheless it is quite ironic being that I am a white girl with a black boyfriend and he doesnt know that.
