haha okay i see what you mean . i'll just give up. i hope streamlight never gets cancer or AIDS or any other serious disease which requires medical attention

 

And why do you hope that, are you insinuating that modern medicine does nothing to help those things, because I personally know of a guy who was dying of cancer, 20% chance of survival, and after about 5 months of chemo, its now in remission, yea, drug companies are only out to get you.

streamlight, one thing i've noticed is that you're really defensive and think we are all attacking you when we share our ideas. you also like to put words in people's mouths. how about you just think of this as a discussion, where people with different beliefs exchange thoughts, instead of a fight? then maybe you'll allow your mind to open, just a tiny bit more.

who told your friend they had a "20% chance of survival"? i'm not underestimating cancer, but i think you are underestimating the power of individual people to heal themselves. for example, voodoo works because people believe in it. if a person is told they have been cursed, and will die in seven days, if they have a strong belief in it, they will literally kill themselves. they will make their bodies shut down. there is no scientific reason and it's certainly not magic, it's just them telling themselves it's over. it's the same thing if you're told you have a 20% chance of living. they take away almost all hope, drain your money (because if you're sure you're going to die, why would you need money anyway?) and after their expensive and harmful "treatment" reinstill faith that you will be okay. once again, it's the faith in the system that is hurting the most. there are much more natural and effective ways of treating cancer, and the most natural and effective of them all is positive thinking and a desire to live.

by the way, i'm just curious. what do you consider your "rights" to be? because personally, i don't consider rights to be given to you. and i don't think they have anything to do with the country you live in. i think rights and freedom are things that you either give yourself or surrender. i'd like to hear your thoughts.
