by who? it's not unusual, but they're definitely a minority. and it does seem like they are more likely to be the one standing at the edge of the work zone holding a slow/stop sign in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
I know a chick who used to do construction. She's super cool. But it did surprise me when she told me that because it's pretty unusual
I came across some construction a bit earlier and looked in about 20 seconds longer than usual because of this discussion.
Some blokes also fit firmly into this category! (Just to be clear!) And about women workers? Rachel was a painter and decorator. She did ok, there are actually a large number of people (of her clientele) that would prefer a woman to be left alone in there homes rather than a man. Great girl! And a jaw dropping retort to most things said on site, she stood her ground and was bags of fun. She was best friend to my girlfriend during my twenties. Just a riot to be with. We got on really well, my g at the time thought we were a couple of kids with our work style banter but......bless her, she understood us both as individuals and let us be. (Two great people) towards the end of last year, I booked site inspection for the building regs schedule, the chap I normally see came in with a rather young lady, I thought it was bring your daughter to work day! Turns out, this highly intelligent young lady was training up to be an inspector! I must say I was amazed, and stated that at the time, as it is highly unusual, she seemed knowledgeable given her “status” on site. I wished her all the best and good luck. it is rare in the trades.
Actually.. That may be true in NZ too. Not the cigarette though.. Because tobacco prices there are INSANE.
Sort of. The sky appears blue because something about our atmosphere and its ability to reflect blue light. So technically it appears blue but is actually clear. So yeah... even that is subjective and can be debated
I know There is an objective reality but we don't perceive it like that. Which does not make the attempt to be as objective as we can any less worthwile.
