couldn't tell you...... but i did meet sen dog and b real from cypress hill in amsterdam once. I met them in the Dread Rock Coffeeshop and talked to them for a while. They told me that they were in the city entertaining the notion of buying a coffeeshop. They liked dreadrock (but wasn't for sale) and they were close to buying the property the "tattoo museum" was. I guess the deal and / or entire notion fizzled out! Oh the memories P.S. Kraftwerk is really good stuff! I've had my entire techno progression.........70's disco, trance, garage, speed garage, happy hardcore, hardcore, jungle, drum n bass, ragga jungle, tech step, darkstep, hardstep, etc. Its all good at the right time, right place, right mood! Being a percussionist though I always lead towards the jungles / steps / and dnb Roni Size, Bad Company, Andy C, LTJ Bukem, Kenny Ken, Shy FX, SS, Ray Keith, Skibadee, etc
yeh, Kraftwerk. I suppose it started my interest with techno/trance genres, although classical music, at a very fundamental level, is very similar to trance, well sort of, in a broad sense. Kraftwerks, Autobahn and Morgenspaziergang (1974) tunes stood out the most for me, really unusual stuff back then, making them pioneers. Another infamous tune I remember was ''Popcorn'' by Hot Butter, lol, everyone knows this tune when it's played and it's called ''Moog'' music, btw. (1972) Yeh, then it went it all 70's disco stuff for ages with a twist of the ''New York'' gay scene influencing the music back then. Hip-Hop followed, break dance, happy trippy hardcore, acid-house, techno, trance (hardcore, ambient, trip-hop, jungle, psy trance, euro trance, Goa, progressive, electronic, dronology, etc) the list goes on........ imho, I still think the best ''Trance'' music comes out of West Europe, with the UK, Germany and Netherlands, fingers firmly on the pulse. Same as good mixing DJ's. I really think the USA, don't get the scene, on the whole, well not as prolific or with as much gusto as Europe. 99% of the best Vinyl, MP3's and mixes I've gathered come from Western Europe but this is ''true trance''. I wonder where it will go from here or has it reached a cul-de-sac.? I think it's going to be around for a very long time still, thankfully, but thats just me, not putting down rock music at all. LOL, afterall I like a bit of the ''Stones'', earlier stuff, especially the album where they all sit down in a room with friends getting blatantly stoned with instruments like the sitar, bongo drums, fantastic very odd ''60's stuff.
Melkweg, Cafe West Pacific, Sassoon, Nomad, Sound Garden, Smart complex, Arena, DJ Cafe Sol, Dancing 'T Heerenhuys, Dansen Bij Jansen, Escape Venue, Korsakoff, Mazzo, Ministry, Odeon, Paradiso, Sinners in Heaven, Trance Budda, etc.
Tell me what needs updating that you know of and I will adjust accordingly. The last update was only several months ago from a good reliable source based at channels.nl web site, where other members were actually helpful with the making of the map, I'm mainly the designer/webmaster, although I'm not doing too badly myself, whipping through most of the coffeeshops when ever I visit, thanks It's many members who frequent here on the Hip-Forums and the Channels.nl sites that keep it up to date and I do this twice a year, btw. ---------------------------------------------------- Trance Budha, oops, that's what happens when one copies & pastes text without taking much notice.
OK then, itsamagicallife, Following on from your PM, I had to reply. First, lets get the links to all the help I got from other members from the Channels.nl web site, who helped me put my map together. 1st thread = http://www.channels.nl/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10748 2nd thread = http://www.channels.nl/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=10962 You said that you replied with some up-to-date info. Here's what you had to say at the Channels.nl web site = 1. Sensi Seeds does not have a coffeeshop license. It does sell seeds and lets you bring your own smoke. 2. Old Style lost its coffeeshop license last year, but is still smoker friendly. 3. Delmondo recently decided on its own to give up its coffeeshop license and is rumured not to be smoker friendly anymore. So without being pedantic, where have I not listened to you.? I'm baffled, as I meticulously made every effort to adjust the map where necessary. What's the point in me starting threads if I wasn't prepared to listen to other people, my friend.? Everything in the 2 threads above I took note of, btw. It pissed me off that that you claimed I didn't take your advice where infact I did. Overall it took me a great deal of time to put my map together and unlike other coffeeshop maps on the web, itleast I belong to 6 or 7 other forums where I sporadically make threads asking for up-to-date info. I visit A'dam itleast once every year and this is when my map has a serious over-haul but I'm not due there for a while. Meanwhile, I have to rely on other people to keep me up-dated, so on that note, It's all the advice I get from other forum members if anything is not quite right with the map between my trips to A'dam. So here's your chance itsamagicallife or anyone elses. Is there anything on the map out of date or incorrect.? Let me know and I will adjust accordingly once verified. AS PER USUAL.! NEMISIS
