Enterprise worked. It was better than the TNG spin-off by an astronomical unit and a half.

One of the reasons they are doing another sequel is because the uniforms in DS9 and Voyager were stupid and the science and everything got ridiculously far fetched.

The other great thing about doing a prequel is that T'Pol might be in it, because Vulcans live for really long times.

In Enterprise the space suit's helmets light up inside, which looks really cool and facilitates the identification of characters easily. However, on a practical level it has a fatal flaw. The light would blind you and reflect off the visor from the inside so you wouldn't be able to see very well, if at all.

Maybe so it fits the rebooted movies better which has a new timeline? I don't mind myself at this point. It depends on how it works out of course.

I thought most fans were disappointed with Enterprise.

No idea. I stopped watching Trek in 1996 when Babylon 5 became the new thing.

I watched a bit of Enterprise a few years ago and my instant reaction was "was the fuck is this shit?". However, if you give it a chance it's actually pretty good. Scott Bakula plays a good captain and is way better than Sisko or Janeway, who were if I'm honest terrible actors.

All the acting, characters and character development in Enterprise is good. I found myself not having to force myself to like them. The only characters in the whole of DS9 and Voyager that I actually like are Seven of Nine, Naomi Wildman, The Holographic Doctor and Kes. I quited liked some of Tom Paris' holodeck episodes, especially Captain Proton and Chaotica. Other than that there were no characters I liked in DS9 at all that I liked, and both DS9 and Voyager looked like shit with their stupid uniforms and terrible alien make-up and horrible, fluffy set production. Enterprise is a little more realistic, and has more of the spirit of exploration. I guess by that time they had begun to run out of stories, but they haven't done too badly up to half way through season 2, there have been a few good ones and the ship is without a doubt the coolest looking ship of all the series, including Discovery.

Hey don't fuck with captain Janeway!

Anyway, it is subjective in the end because for me Kes was one of the most annoying characters ever. Her species were interesting and that was it. I liked most of Voyager's main characters. I swallowed the set production easily at the time but now it looks kind of dated I agree. Still, I have enjoyed that whole series a lot more than Enterprise. Which, to be fair, had an awesome intro. The ship didn't make a big impression on me apparently :p

Season 4 was pretty awesome, Wish they'd done the whole series like that

But they wanted to try be trendy with some less is more nonsense

Same with Stargate Universe, they stuffed that up even though they had an awesome cast, because they wanted to get all reflective and moody and shit

Sci fi needs to have lots of pretty colours and stuff blowing up all the time as well as characterization and all that crap

I never watched any Stargate series or Babylon 5. Just one Stargate movie. I figured it couldn't be better than what Roddenberry wanted Star trek to be.

I liked Kes' voice, she was a total stoner and I think Jennifer Lien is a bit of a stoner in real life. Janeway OTOH had the most annoying grainy voice, and she was a total dog and still is. I've seen her in Orange is the new Black and she is not a very good actor, overrated. They originally cast Genevive Bujold for Janeway, but she walked out on the first day probably after saying to herself "what. the fuck. is this shit."

IMO Jeri Ryan saved Voyager from an early homecoming, and not just because she was smoking hot. She is an incredible actress, and the episode where the personailities of people and races the Borg had assimilated started surfacing and she developed some kind of split personality disorder still shines in my mind. I also loved the relationship she developed with Naomi Wildman, and the way she always said "Naomi Wildman" in a kind of deadpan way whever she turned up. She was highly intelligent and disciplined, but inside she was still a little girl herself.

There was a bit of friction between her and Mulgrew apparently, as Mulgrew became jealous of her curves and how she was supposed to be the modern day feminist icon, then along comes Ryan in her cat suit flashing her tits everywhere and steals the show. More or less attractive, she was still a better character and actress than Mulgrew, who developed her characteristic dulcet tones through years of chain smoking.

And the intro to Enterprise is rather good, despite being cheesy as fuck. I hated it at first, because it was so unexpected and different from the mould. But it is a nice, fitting intro and the tune isn't bad. My favourite bit is the bit with Alan Sheppard (first American in space, second human after Yuri Gagarin), I love the way he just looks like, yeah man I fucking did it. I've been to space.

This was an attempt by Bergman et al to bring in a wider audience to the Trek world, as were the sexing it up a bit scenes, but it didn't really work. I think Discovery will be a bigger hit. It's going to be a lot more gritty, more violent and they will use swear words in it.

B5 was the tits. DS9 was inspired by it, as were the uniforms and general look of Enterprise.

I totally disagree, Star Trek TNG, DS9, and Voyager were fantastic.

Enterprise sucked with the exception of Jolene Blalock who played Sub-commander T’Pol. BTW She also played Ishta on Stargate SG-1

Fair plums. I thought the film Stargate was pants, so never bothered with the series. Blalock rocks.

You guys going on about Joelene Blalock

Google what she looks like now.

Google what she married, some guy that looks like he has a toilet brush for a head, a CEO of some entertainment company, ca-ching ca-ching but butt ugly

And all to pay for her plastic surgery bills it would seem

Anyone else noticed that, for a sexually repressed Vulcan, T'Pol's nips still get erect when she's in the decontamination chamber rubbing oil on Captain Archer's boaby?

Not saying this is what happened but if I was a stagehand I’d turn the A/C up to its highest setting

That scene where Trip's in there with T'Pol and Hoshi and they're all rubbing oil over each other. How the hell did he manage to do that without getting a stiffy?

See actors when they film sex scenes and that, they all must be going in to the bogs to crack one off beforehand, empty their baws. Must be the only way to avoid the inevitable awkwardness of actually getting a hard on during filming.

I take it this is another one of Trip's hallucinations?
