Stairway to Heaven

I love led zeppelin but you probably could tell that. That song is everthing great about them and is everyhting about zeppelin in one song.

 

Count on Led Zeppelin to make a slower folk song a hit. Stairway to Heaven is like one of the best songs ever. A perfect hippy song. It is calming and soothing, but has the classic volume that can be expected from the caliber of Jimmy Page.

Ive heard the phrase "my sweet satan" a couple of times.... and something about a toolshed......

 

if you play it backwards, right around 4:38 you can hear "my sweet satan"

i don't know if this has been said...but i like zappa's version best...

 

dont know how many of you guys have heard it....but on the early studio recording of it on that album, john bonham screws up in the middle of the song. they mustve changed it shortly after, because i have two copies of the album on vinyl from the same year. one of them he messes up wicked but the other its just fine.

 

the song's about acute drug addiction...........

Just don't EVER play it on a guitar in ANY music store! They are so tired of hearing it, they WILL throw you out! It happened to me once here in Vegas.

Funny, they don't mind John Denver or Jim Croce tho....

 

The lyrics are amazing, its like poetry. The music is wonderful too. I'm playing the guitar with a huge orchestra on this song in may.
