I take 50mg sertraline an Ssri. And blood pressure meds. 58yr old. Also 5 mg cialis daily. I take 10 mg if i going to have sex. But i have the most difficult time to reach orgasm. Very frustrating. Should i see a sexual health doctor? Any recommendations. Also i sure i have a enlarged prostate.

The thing about that is, it's sometimes psychological too.

    The cock ring helps...

But in all seriousness, don't hesitate to ask for Viagra or its cousin, Sildenafil. I think Sildenafil is just the generic for Viagra. There is a massive caveat though...

Medicare doesn't cover it. In fact, I don't think the formulary on anyone's insurance covers it.

    It's out of pocket.

I demonstrated that there wasn't an adquate means to pay for the medication. I got a deal.

But it was an eye opener anyway... It gives you an appreciation for the discussion on prescription drug pricing.

Change your SSRI, Zoloft alone will make you depressed about being medicated for depression...... Ask your doc about Wellbutrin, or bupropion....it's often used off label for libido improvement along with depression. You'll have to titrate off of the Zoloft otherwise you'll feel zooey. There's no problems when going off of Wellbutrin.

I tried an SSRI years back, but it affected my libido. How the heck is it supposed to help with depression if it causes lack of libido? I tossed them.

I'm dealing with depression once again 30 years later and I refuse to use SSRIs. I'm recovering from Lupron and don't want another med that pings my system. I'd prefer to find a way to take seratonin directly, but that doesn't exist yet.

Those antidepressants are good but really foul up the sex. I was on several over the past 20 years and finally got off of the last one, venlafaxine. I can once again masturbate with my hand. Sensitivity is better. I still use bupropion for libido. I'm 77 and need the help. Sildenifil and tadilifil are great helpers too. I buy them 50 full doses at a time so they will be available at any time. Great stuff.

Try Wellbutrin (bupropion) - it doesn't have the libido effects that other SSRI's have - in fact, it has quite the opposite effect, and it's often used off label for libido improvement. Another benefit is you don't have any issues getting off of it as the others do...dizziness, etc... It's cheap now, even the extended release type.

Interesting. I finally went to the doctor for bupropion as another prostate cancer patient's wife said it had worked well for him as an antidepressant with no sexual problems. I started on a diet and supplements prescribed by an endocrinologist and began having full body Swedish massage instead to it sits on the shelf. Maybe one day I'll give it a try just out of curiosity.

By the way, either time or the diet or the massage have pretty well eliminated the depression.

I keep sex strictly out of massage. I was terrified of massage for most of my life as I am/was quick to be aroused and feel that is only for my wife. I have or had extreme body modesty. Not sure where I'm at now.

I have gone though being castrate and menopausal as treatment for prostate cancer and possibly have less libido for now. I took advantage of this, hoping that I could desensitize the arousal reflex enough to have massage when I'm back to full libido.

    "Possible side effects; sexual dysfunction."
    Just once, I'd like to see;
    "WARNING: MAY CAUSE EXTREME ORGASMS."

Yes, see a doctor. Às others mentioned, sertraline is a big cause. Welbrutrin could also help. Enlarged prostate will contribute to the problem as well as having high blood pressure. Start exercising regularly and look at your diet. Being over weight will also cause erection problems. Good luck.

I have a friend with just the opposite problem, he has a very rare condition that causes him to ejaculate every time he sneezes. It’s not so bad in the winter, but due to his severe hayfever it's a nightmare for him in the summer.

The supplements are for suppression of SHBG to try to increase bio available testosterone. I'd been having depression because I was on medically induced male menopause by way of medically induced 6 month temporary castration, but the depression was hanging on long after I was no longer castrate. They are boron, magnesium, D3, zinc and fish oil.
