If I was the women I would chase the burly men out of the flat at gun point if they didnt move I would shoot them ,Im not joking .

It can take a lot of effort to buy property ,days of your life that you spend working when you could be having fun .

So in effect their taking part of your life by stealing your property and I wouldnt put up with it , Id try to get away with killing them if I had too but if needs be Id be happy to go to jail but no way would I let someone act like that towards me and get away with it

Id try reasoning with them first, likely I would say like my grandfather said before he shot that man for not taking his hat off to my grandmother ....." I think your making a terrible mistake "
Then the gloves would be off and well they would have made a terrible mistake by getting me riled

But the house had been sitting idle and was going to be demolished. Better that someone use empty land surely?

ha ha ha I used to squat a millionaires mansion in Bournemouth on top of Alum Chine
big sea view and everything. there was no furniture there - place completely empty - 1/2 an acre of ground - heating and lighting still on - lived there a year and then handed it over to someonelse - big 6 bedroomed house with a pool etc etc and a go-cart that did about 40mph in the garage which we used to take over to a track near Brighton sometimes it was brilliant !

at first for 6 months it was just me but then 2 friends came to live there

Of course the place was empty and the way in was that a door had been left open - course a few days later I changed the locks but no-one ever visited there even though it was in perfect condition

I think if someone is genuinly homeless then ''squatting'' is ''ok''.
If it is just a lifestyle choice and people just do it for ''shits and jollies'' - then fuck off out of there.
If the owners return and ask you to leave then you should piss off and find somewhere else to squat [regardless].
It is a weird loophole in the law that prevents squatters from being removed - but i guess in some cases it is preferable than getting you head kicked in in some night shelter or freezing your ass off in some doorway..
I think i've even read if you are unaccosted for 12 years and do not any pay rent - the property is yours.
    Very very weird.
