Yes, the right wing exagerrated stories of anti-war protesters spitting on vets, making it appear as though we were all in on it, but If you've read parts of this thread there are accounts from veterans who themselves were spit on. While incidents of spitting on Vietnam veterans were unusual and isolated, it's far from an urban myth.
