It wasn't my fault even though i knew better Dreams come true We shouldn't make decisions?Judging a killer is different than judging a race or religion.Maybe we should stick our heads in the sand. Sheep put us in a world of sheep shit Or in some cultures, such as ours Kill them all,let god sort them out We all sin, some of us kill
Gate; Nobody from that working class neighborhood I came from was into "Killing babies." They were into killing North Vietnamese Army regulars. TH
In all honesty, I don't really give a shit what anyone says about the Army. Not everyone "kills babies" in the Army; not everyone gets to even fire a gun. But do not greet soldiers home from a war with spit in their face.
Gate; Well you certainly have some strong opinions on the subject. I guess I might have went through the same era and come out with some different conclusions. I think it's about that neighborhood I grew up in and actually knowing some of these guys, or hanging out at vet parties and smoking that excellent weed they were bringing back. I didn't see monsters at all-just people caught up in a hairy situation. And it was just the luck of the draw that I didn't end up on an all expense paid tour of God-knows-where (maybe bad luck-Mario was drafted and had the GVT pay for his college and is now a millionaire out on the Coast). We are packing up to go visit Shark and his family just now and Katie is wracking her brain to come up with a gift for the Grandson. Shark has a problem with John Barleycorn and his wife my wife's best friend says that he still has nightmares. Good people all around though- and there is no treachery there. I have severed more friendships over the years on the trust issue. Like my best friend in the world Mario once said one time when we were blasted off our carks and considering the nature of things "If you can't trust somebody what good are they?" Tundrahopper
Actually i tend to agree with you more than not.In the 60's ,we had the draft. We were also a bunch of mindless govermnent drones. After 40 rears of struggle, there are no more excuses.
I'm no advocate of war, but after 9/11; Madrid bombings; London bombings, who're the ones that will defend our countries? No "peace-loving-hippie" is going to stop a terrorist attack, and you have more chance to stop it with force than with pacifist ideas. You may not like what they do, and what I want to do, but we're fighting what WE believe in, and that's our right as humans to defend our country and our loved ones from whatever we think. War is a terrible thing and I have never condoned it, but war is inevitable. It's been going on since the beginning of humanity, and fighting is a natural instinct that humans possess. Would you spit on a grave of a fallen soldier?
These problems should have been delt with before they esculated. When we constantly dictate to others we become the enemy. That said and done,Why are we in Iraq when the source of 9/11 is in Afganistan and Pakistan? Our leaders take our passions and use them for their own means. When we know this, by being sheep,we're just as guilty. As long as war is seen as a viable solution,it is inevitable. We need to get past this.As history goes on our weapons get more destructive. How long can this go on?
Come you masters of war You that build all the guns You that build the death planes You that build the big bombs You that hide behind walls You that hide behind desks I just want you to know I can see through your masks You that never done nothin' But build to destroy You play with my world Like it's your little toy You put a gun in my hand And you hide from my eyes And you turn and run farther When the fast bullets fly Like Judas of old You lie and deceive A world war can be won You want me to believe But I see through your eyes And I see through your brain Like I see through the water That runs down my drain You fasten the triggers For the others to fire Then you set back and watch When the death count gets higher You hide in your mansion As young people's blood Flows out of their bodies And is buried in the mud You've thrown the worst fear That can ever be hurled Fear to bring children Into the world For threatening my baby Unborn and unnamed You ain't worth the blood That runs in your veins How much do I know To talk out of turn You might say that I'm young You might say I'm unlearned But there's one thing I know Though I'm younger than you Even Jesus would never Forgive what you do Let me ask you one question Is your money that good Will it buy you forgiveness Do you think that it could I think you will find When your death takes its toll All the money you made Will never buy back your soul And I hope that you die And your death'll come soon I will follow your casket In the pale afternoon And I'll watch while you're lowered Down to your deathbed And I'll stand o'er your grave 'Til I'm sure that you're dead
Who said anything about Iraq? And there's no point saying "These problems should have been delt with before they esculated.", because they weren't! It should have, I know, but it wasn't and now we're all stuck in this situation we call 'war'. So don't use that as an excuse, please. Also, I ask again: Would you spit on a grave of a fallen soldier?
Why would you think that all the soldiers are there for the "KILL"??? Not all go to kill people. If there wasn't war, what would they be doing? I can't beleive that you or anyone else has no repect for the ones who fight for our freedom? Just think if after 9/11 we didn't do anything about it, we would be in hell. They would have the power to come into our counrty and kill us OFF!!! But thats where our soldiers come in, to protect us. Use your Fuckin head!!!!! IT REALLY DIGUST ME THAT YOU THINK THAT THEIR THERE FOR THE KILL!!!! Is that why they come home all messed up in the head, becasue they had to see that? Maybe I just don't understand you people. But I know that you should be thanking them instead of putting them DOWN!! or as you would like to say "SPIT" on them. How do you think that makes them feel, or have you gotten over yourself to understand???
Would you spit on a grave of a fallen soldier? posted by L.A Matthews My quote button doesn't work!!! Anyway, I know that when I see flags and graves of our fallin soldiers is make me 1. Want to cry 2. THANK THEM with all I have and 3. RESPECT THEM!!!! You may not like war and Iam one who just doesn't like it at all, but like he said it inevitable and theres nothing you can do about it. But that doesnt' make me look down on those who make me FREE!!!!
Free of what exactly? Please explain to me just exactly how the wars in viet nam or Iraq or Afganistan or gulf war or any of that, kept me "free". And what did they keep me free of?........
Iraq is where we are now and where everything has led to.Don't use lack of diplomacy as an excuse for war, please. We're only stuck cause we're stuck in a box and can't see past where we are.Honestly it's like two kids scraping in the schoolyard.Senseless.Perpetrated by the very pawns themselves, the soldiers, who don't want to feel worthless and want to raise themselves to a level of self importance that is nothing but a falacy. To answer your question,i have no need to spit on anyone's grave,do you?It would be a wasted jesture. However i would piss on my own gravesite if it would do some good.
I agree. I support the troops, not the war. Afganistan i can understand going into because of 9/11 (i dont support iraq). its besides the point of what the troops were doing there, its not their job to decide or like or support or agree with where they're going and who they attack. Thats what the gov is for. These soldiers risked their lives and went through hell for what some fat politician back in d.c decided. give em some respect.
all i can say is... some soldiers killed innocents and some didn't. some people spat on the soldiers and some didn't. you can't blame the entire group of people for what some people did. thats just stupid.
im not trying to make this about blaming the government, im just trying to say to give soldiers some respect.
