Spitting on Vietnam Soldiers

Aren't these"leaders"just more followers?Isn't bush just another soldier who's moved up in rank?

 

The Idea of GWB being any kind of a soldier is very close to the most obscene thing I have ever heard. None of our leaders knows the lives of the common person that is the problem with the current corporate dictatorship. America needs a return to some kind of populist movement.

The US and every other army I know of have used flame weapons (which are against the Geneva Convention) in ever war we had since the Germans introduced flamethrowers in WWI. I believe that the troops serving in Iraq are no worse or better that the boys I saw in Vietnam. The training for war and war itself dehumanizes men. It has always been thus. During WWII Life magazine published a photo of a young girl proudly holding a Japanese skull. Her boyfriend had mailed it to her from Guadalcanal. There was no major outcry against the action. Wars have always sucked. The objective must be to stop having them. I think that the young men in Iraq are mislead and serving an unjust cause. However, I think that vilifying them is both wrong and nonproductive. The mortar crew that skip describes in his post did not go out of their way to look at their targets. Who in their right mind would, the stuff you have to see is bad enough without sightseeing. The few people I served with that liked seeing dead folks were sick indeed. You just had sort of a guilty elation that it was them not you. The war in Iraq will cost the US much in blood, treasure, and loss of face. However, it has to be used to provide information and gather recruits to try again to stop war.

Any major anatomical supply house will sell you a skull. You need an educational letterhead but they probably do not check to hard if you front the money. Some states have laws against misuse of human remains so you might want to be somewhat covert with your display.

I've never spat on, nor disrespected, ANY Vietnam soldier, or veteran! I have relatives in the military, including the Pentagon. Most Americans do. It's not very hip, peace and love, to disrespect soldiers. Unconditional love means love with NO conditions! I respect people that die for their beliefs, even if they don't match mine. That's what FREEDOM is all about!

You don't have to agree with the WAR MAKERS, though! They are the chess players and soldiers (and us) are mere pawns to them. Vietnam soldiers and veterans should've at least got a big hug, and a "Welcome home, brother!". It's only human. Take your issues to the SOURCE, i.e. the WAR MAKERS and FINANCERS. Who benefits? I wasn't a "draft dodger", as I still have my original draft card. I was younger and very near-sighted, so I wasn't chosen to go. Their choice.

I didn't think "anti-war" protests were very effective, either. We're still at war!!! With all of the wars we've had, are we "safer"? When are we safe? In October of 1965, Ken Kesey (of "The Merry Pranksters' and the "Acid Tests") spoke (with microphone in hand) at the Berkeley Vietnam Day rally (close to 15,000 people) in his Day-Glo helmet and windbreaker and stated that wars have been fought for ten thousand years and weren't going to change anything by parading around with signs and slogans. He shocked them with the truth. Plus, it hurts to have your head billy-clubbed and tear gas just don't smell good! Not MY thing, man!

However, I WAS a "conscientious objector". Why? Remember the old news stories about dope being smuggled in the bodies and/or coffins of dead 'Nam soldiers? I remember. Who'd look in there? Are your eyes WIDE SHUT? Now, that's disrespectful! Years later, we get the IRAN/CONTRA thing. What, George W. Bush Sr. (CIA), Ollie North and company running drugs and guns for the CIA? Financing BLACK OPS secret projects? Why? By using TAX money, records are usually kept and that would blow the "secret" aspect of BLACK OPS. Logical. That's all I want to say about this, as it seems dangerous territory to get into, BUT these were MAJOR news stories, and made public. Just a drug war, like Afghanistan. However, Vietnam had some uranium deposits, also.

The Iraq war is about oil drilling diputes, and/or about Iraq trading in PETROEUROS. instead of PETRODOLLARS. Arab oil companies (under American oil companies) were "angle-drilling" into Iraq's oil fields and "stole" billions in oil revenues! Iraq found out. OOOPS! Wars are usually fought in countries who have valuable natural resources, like petroleum and drugs, and/or over financial control through money! The Middle East is plentiful in petroleum and drugs! The "Golden Triangle of Drugs". BIG money makers! In GOD, they trust: Gold (money), Oil (plus gasoline and natural gas) and Drugs. "Politics" is just a smokescreen, a diversion. This is similar to two animals fighting over a piece of meat! Ants are notorious for waring amongst themselves. ARMY ants? Look how small their brains are, man! WAR MAKERS (with a grain of sand brain, like ants) are REAL HIGH on the old evolutionary (or creation) scale!

I have a psychology book that has a picture of Adolph Hitler, with the title: PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC. Hitler authored THE ENABLING ACT, which is what the PATRIOT ACTS are based upon, thus, by logical deduction (my Dear Watson, says Sherlock Holmes), the authors of the PATRIOT ACTS must also be PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIC. Terrorists are EVERYWHERE! Everywhere I tell you! They're in the woodwork! They're after me! There are bombs in shoes and bras! How about an Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) diagsnosis for A New World Order (NWO)? That would make it the New World Disorder (NWD)! Remember, a rigid stick will snap in the wind (i.e. "set in their ways"), while a flexible stick will endure the strongest winds (of change). Charles Darwin stated that those most likely to survive, are the ones who can "adapt" to rapid changes in the environment. Intelligence wasn't as important! How many "primitive" lifeforms are still living on Earth? We'll blow ourselves up, but cockroaches will still be here! So, it's not always intelligent, to do the intelligent thing! One must do the "adaptive" thing! High tech and mind control crap cannot overcome the spirit, because the spirit is the matrix which defines high tech. It becomes as a sand castle, washed away by the tide.

We should be "child-like", but not "childish", i.e. imaginative and easily adaptable to new things. The hippies were criticized for being like children. The New World Order fears drastic earth and climate changes, because they are too "inflexible" to adapt to them and would perish! How about Delusions of Grandeur? Gods made of tin. The military aren't happy about a President who is just an AWOL National Guardsman, plus cuts Veteran funding! Harry S. Right now i have only read to the second page, but i am so pissed i have to go ahead and leave a comment......SYNTAX....You say that Vietnam was not justified.....How do you feel about our revolution? was it justified? That was vietnams revolution......Were our native indians justified in helping US? especially considering that the brittish were the ones keeping us fromt aking there land and then afterwards we screwed them over adn tok what was theres.......my point is that NO war is justifiable...WAR IS A TRAGEDY.....SO you want to blame the soldiers , you want to sya they were baby killers....I would be interested to find out who in your family has been in the military and when you hear there stories i wonder what you would think....My dad was in vietnam...in fact we have about 6 photo albums on the table next to me from vietnam because he is a history teacher and jsut got doen with his presentation on the war.....Have you ever read the letters that soldiers sent home to their parents? have you seen soldiers pictures? have you heard soldiers voiuce recordings?....have you looked into one of their eyes when they are telling you about the war? have you watched their eyes?.........Nobody can call all the soldiers baby killers.....just like nobody can call all the hippies communists....you can but that doesnt make it true....boy I dont think you understand what it was like back then......when they werent fighting the vietnamese some were fighting each other....my dad has told me stories about how the black soldiers would get into fire fights with the white soldiers and how the americans would get into fights with Korean Marines who were helping us out....Man don't you think that ENOUGH of our brothers, cousins, uncles, and fathers already die in wars that they have no choice over whether they go to or not.....And now you want to dishonor them by talking shit about somethign you are obvisouly to ignorant on the topic to grasp? oh yeah and i jsut read some more comments of people defendign the vietnam soldiers and my dad is about the same way....he cant watch some war movies...he hasnt had a flashback in long time, but still has to be carefull...i know when i was a child some firecrackers were going off adn he ran otuside and jumped on top of me and said ...GET DOWN GET DOWN...yeah that scared the hell out of me.....and also my dad was in all the areas where the agent orange was and now he has diabetes and his eye sight is going away pretty fast and some other things that that shit deos to people and he is working on trying to get benefits, but it can be a battle.....you would think that things would be easier for such a selfless man who had to take on the horrors of war, not only were many of his friends killed, but also his cousin...he has been a public school teacher for the past 30 years...you would think someone would get more respect...

I agree they treat the people that are killing them as no more than 'objects' the same way they are treated..
That is being detached and not 'panicking' as to protect yourself or those around you from being killed...There humanity is trying to prevent the insurgency from killing civillians ... They show more humanity in one little finger ..than those that blow there fellow countrymen/women/children up on a daily basis..
