People are like dirt. They can either nourish you and help you grow as a person or they can stunt your growth and make you wilt and die. -Plato
Humans aren't as good as we should be in our capacity to empathize with feelings and thoughts of others, be they humans or other animals on Earth. So maybe part of our formal education should be training in empathy. Imagine how different the world would be if, in fact, that were 'reading, writing, arithmetic, empathy.' - Neil deGrasse Tyson
Was that the Polish one? I liked him. He was awesome. He was like, didn't take his day job too serious. Lol. But the guy knew several languages and was very wise.
Yup. He seemed fun and simple. I guess that's why people liked him so much. I don't think any pope will even come close to what JPII was to people. I was lucky enough to see him twice in Croatia as a kid. He was a big supporter of Croatian independence. I think Vatican was the second country to recognize Croatia as an independent state lol. He came in 1994 when no one came.
And call me crazy, but those first years of peace, after war, are tough BUT happy. Anything seems possible, and there's general optimism. Then reality happens. Aaaaand that's off topic. So here's JPII
Lol! Posting a variation on the same pic in the same minute I feel spiritually very close to Eloise now :-D
