evangelicals don't really understand their own religion, let alone anyone else's. their leaders only use it to make themselves big and chaise money. the evil they see everywhere is their own reflection. without logic there is only uncertainty, though we can pretend anything without consideration there is only tyranny, a few may actually want this, but most i think, just don't ever look that far. nothing human really knows the unknown, only that strangeness is universal, that there is a sense we can experience beyond ourselves. many beliefs of all kinds give in to the demands of the ego that we have to pretend to know. to claim a universe more hostile then neutral, is just too convenient a way to make excuses for those who want to justify causing harm. i'm not trying to say there can't be anything, only that i find it illogical to trust claims of goodness and wishing to be feared in the same place. if the god of christianity and other monothiestic beliefs, is a real thing, if it is also good, then it is also innocent of their claims to know its will.
Ah, well Christians would think that because spells are pagan and therefore a sin. Mind you I'd like to know where we'd be if Jesus didn't use some spells to heal people and turn that water into wine. And then resurrect. I mean there's gotta be spells there, right? Lol. A whole factory shop of spells.

What a crock of horse shit. am not sure what you are advocating for anymore......but if people want to hex, curse or wish harm on another....then they have to believe , too, that they are opening up the door to their own ill will and bad things happening to them, too.. I am not into this hocus pocus of spells, but only to make yourself feel empowered to do something positive about your own lives..... Princess and the Pea felt that pea..or blockade or negative energy or force that did not belong with her....so she either left it......or sent it back to where it came from....or destroyed it.......not just throw it out into outer space to possiby hurt some innocent soul...whether it be animal or human. I dabble in feng shui.,.....and that is all about improving one 's own energy and creating air flows in one's own living space, etc.......and there are things in feng shui, like Rainy's salt idea, and I have heard that before....to repel any negative energy to come into one's own life from the outside..... I find songs like Witchcraft/Sinatra...i put a Spell n you/CCR.....etc..fun....but that is all. I think they are fun and innocent....and that is how I sing them and interpret them.
and again...i said dabble or used to, anyway, in feng shui.....but I cherry pick certain principles with that, as well...like decluttering your surroundings........minimalistic approach, which seems impossible for me..., as much as I keep getting rid of things. It is like the pot of oatmeal story here......but in feng shui, there were certain things I did not like, too..... For instance, one thing in feng shui was to get a bowel of gold fish....and they would take any negative energy flowing in....so they would die...... After I read that.... I lost interest and the passion that i had.....and put all of my feng shui books down and said forget it. I will figure it all out for myself. I am for nothing dieing.......nothing getting hurt....I want to keep everything safe .
I've heard that many think this. But, then why do so many religions warn against it? If there's nothing to it, religions wouldn't suggest that it's ''evil.'' What do you make of that?
I can answer your question, D....as I have watched many programs on the TV........and have seen where covenant of witches moved into a place with their black magic and pentagons on the floor and candles and ouji boards and things.....and cast spells on people.........and in doing so.......opened the door to the dark side.........so those entities could enter.....and many religions do believe in good and evil entities......... but anyway....next tenants that moved into the house....."my Haunted House'....show....bad things occurred and evil spirits were present....entered in from the witches and their dark magic. yes, I am not religious......but I think that is why the Christian faith does not believe in this stuff....or advocate for it. I think that if you are concentrating on evil to befall someone.....you are wishing bad things to happen to yourself, as that is what you are concentrating on and using your brain power for...and has nothing to do with religions.....but if you concentrate on something bad,,,,you invite bad things....and vice versa. It is all about self love and respect....really before you can really love another.......not about spells and things......or about holding anyone captive.
They believe it opens the door to anything evil, and make you vulnerable to things beyond your control. I don't mess with ouija boards, tarot cards, get my palm read, etc., because it frames your thinking and actions, and people become reliable on that crap as soon as they get the slightest inkling that it just might work because of something significant happening that's relevant to what they want. It's all garbage. You don't need to try to control someone's destiny with spells, or have someone tell you your future or guess your past. Live life constantly moving forward and positive.
I think people use it as psychological warfare.......too.... and I am dead set against any paganistic rituals sacrificing any animals....that is horrible!...and very sad and sick.
I agree with this, I don't think spells or prayers even for that matter, used to bring about bad outcomes or harm to others, is a positive. I find that there are positive ''spells'' that bring about positive intentions and outcomes, though. Some may even call spells, prayers of a sort. I don't want to control anyone's destiny. I only want to control my own life, and my intentions are to bring about peace in my life. But, I believe in God, and pray with that in mind, also. I'm just intrigued by what I've been reading as it relates to ''good'' spells. I think the word ''spell'' has a bad connotation.
I understand you want to improve life for yourself........and make things peaceful for yourself..........and I do believe in aroma therapies....lavender, is suppoised to have a calming effect, for instance..... If something does not make you happy....move on and find something that does.....is kind of a simple formula....... I read about the lie your husband told..you. I have no idea what that was all about.....but if you love him enough...work it out with him.......perhaps therapy to find out why he needed to lie if he cannot get at the root of it himself.......or simply talk to him yourself...but if his lie is always going to be a source of contention for you.....I guess you will have to move on....but that all depends on how much you really like and love each other....like being the key word here...........fireworks will sometimes fade, and should not be the only thing to base a long lasting relationship on...., but if you genuinely care about another person....that never goes away. My educated guess is that your husband's lie , whatever that was....and your impossible boss...yes, I pay attention to what people write here......lol......are making your feel powerless right now..and you want to gain some control back over your life....... When I first saw you starting to get into spells...i thought,..oh, no.....just remain sweet about whatever you do.
Yea, my husband and I are in a much better place with it all, now. I have forgiven him, and he was very genuinely sorry for what he lied about. I can see a really good person making a mistake, which is what happened here. He didn't think it was a big deal, I suppose, and he didn't consider it lying, but it's one of those things we worked out, and we love each other. My boss has been an ass for a a few years, and I think you're totally right, I feel powerless when it comes to my work situation. I'm technically not powerless, I could resign (which I may) or could go to HR (but don't think anything meaningful will be done), so I get upset that people who are bullies to their staff, get away with that behavior. Like why should I have to resign? He threatened to fire someone on the team this week, and this guy is pretty new to the company, but has received zero training. My boss shouldn't be in this position!! It's just frustrating to watch good people get hired, and they become disheartened because they soon realize what a jerk our boss is. If he left the company, we would all be better off, and so would the company, as a whole.
lol If only...… I plan to get a huge cauldron, wear a black cape...and put all types of ingredients in, I may need the tail of a newt? And stir it all up and cast a deep dark spell, so he never returns. I'm kidding!
Their is an old saying that more things are wrought by prayer than this word dreams of. I tend to feel that it is more the case of the person feeling that they have taken the action and it has made them feel good and at peace with themselves. When it comes to things like Wicca, I start to fear that things like that could go seriously wrong. Feeling that someone had negative energy against you could easily send your mind on a downhill spiral in the same way as it can make you feel good. In the words of Newton, "for every action, their is an equal and opposite reaction" Their are some days when I wish that Jane had joined in on HF, but this is not one of them. Reading your thread, I would be worried that she would be bombarding you with personal messages, asking you for a recipe that she could use to turn me into a fat toad.
Double, double toil and trouble.... I agree with ''for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.'' Resembles ''we shall reap what we sow.'' If I'm honest, my boss is a lonely, angry guy...divorced for like 15 years...loves his kids and all, but seems lonely. But, honestly, we all have a story, and we all have pain from things we've experienced...it doesn't give a boss a license to act as he does. Hopefully, things get better. Or I just will resign and look for a more positive place to work.
