Milton Friedman related. Why did the capitalist sides do better than the communist sides with these countries?
Uh, boycotts for one. You can include Cuba too as a victim of boycotts. Blame Russia too for building A WALL. Just like Trump wants again. Let's isolate our country and stop immigration just like North Korea has done. See how well that works for them. Then let's round up those immigrants and put them in camps like other undesirables. Or arrest them, put them in prisons where they can earn 10 cents an hour working for the MAN. What they're not telling you is that Capitalism is destroying the planet by its very exploitive nature. Whereas former Socialist/ Communist countries were decades behind on that score until they embraced more Capitalist ways.
Not the same types of walls. The wall Trump wants won't stop legal entrance into the U.S. It's aimed at stopping illegal immigration.
How much of Cuba's problems are the results of the embargo vs the problems commonly seen in communist countries? Didn't most communist countries have issues with shortages and rationing?
Common issues with central planning. "Criticism of Centrally Planned Economies The concept of central planning is subject to heavy criticism, especially from scholars in the Austrian school of economics. One major critique, associated with Friedrich Hayek, is that central planners cannot efficiently respond to supply and demand. In a market economy, businesses respond to price signals by increasing or decreasing the production of their goods. In a planned economy, there are no price signals, so planners cannot accurately forecast which products will be needed or not adapt to changing conditions. This means that there may be unnecessary shortages or surpluses of certain goods." From: Centrally Planned Economy Investopedia
Oh, yeah tell that to China, cause none of their 5 year plans ever worked, right? Now that they are drowning in CAPITALISTIC DEBT they suddenly are in trouble, right? That's where they went wrong, adopting Capitalist ways under a Communist government.
^^ Didn't China have a massive famine around the late 50s that was related to Mao's communist policies?
