Right. Spend enough time on here and you see yourself viewing those things totally differently than you ever had before. Just a small sample of society I think (hope, lol!). :D

Im 6'4 and its a PITA to buy pants off the shelf. So is a 13 shoe too. You get whats left over or order them.
Been this tall for 20 years and was able to buy a 12pack when I had a permit and parked my moped around back. It does have its advantages for ease of hiding stuff up high and elevation in a crowd.
Its really a bitch to buy anything, Like a car. Most of these little death traps they build today, I need to sit in the back seat to drive.

funny that we had the same answer to the basketball question. (i was on the swim team too). height helps in competetive swimming too - helps you reach the wall faster.

and not all HF men are pigs. maybe my avatar is...but i think i'm pretty respectful to women.

what's your pant size. i wear 32/34 and yeah, it's damn hard to find that size. makes shopping for pants kinda quick though, i just search for that size, and then decide they look stupid...
    i don't like shopping much.

i could really use a pair of sneakers, but i'm facing the same issue as you again. size 13. 12s will fit if i'm lucky (depending on the brand).

Im a 32/34 or 34/34, Depending the brand. I hate looking like im wearing manprees, So I have to buy the a bit big and hope they sag a tad.

Yep, By the time you find 'the size', You look at them and ask 'just who in the fuck would wear these? That's what I run into lol. Shopping sucks when its for clothing, GF hates that all I wear is logo Tshirts of friends companys etc for the fact I need a xxl and hope it shrinks so the length is OK, Or a XLT.
Shoes, I have learned that if I found a pair I like, Snowballs chance in hell they will have my size and I usually have to track down and order them off the net. On the plus side, Boots in the colder months and my flip flops for the summer to keep up the tan lmao :2thumbsup:

really? 5'11 is tall for a girl, but not THAT tall. besides, a lot of tall people are really awkward and unathletic; it's not like every tall person is a basketball star, or even a majority of tall people. seems like in my experience most good female basketball players i've come across were average height or below.

it's because you're black, not tall...

Yea, I knew taller girls than me in my life. But yea, I didn't make that shit up. It was all pretty much when I was a kid and in high school-maybe college (early 20's)... then it all stopped. It was never really people my age either but either really old people or at least middle aged people asking.
Idk though, when I was younger I was tall (obviously) but also since I swam competively I was thin but also really toned...strong legs and shoulders. So I probably didn't look like I didn't do any sport or fitness thing at all.

But still, regardless, yea, it always had to be basketball. Couldn't look at me and say "Hm, this girl is tall and thin but her shoulders look like swimmer's shoulders"... nope, basketball. I think it's just something people say to tall people in general for something to say. Shrugs. It used to drive me nuts though-not so much the question... but when I'd say "no" and then the person would always say to me "why not? you'd be good at it!!!" ... like, "really? I've played basketball before and I'm really not the best at it just because I'm tall. I can't steal a ball worth shit, but, okay"

A short, chubby black guy probably wouldn't get asked if he played basketball too much.

I was gonna say I'd never be all retarded n go up to a black person and be all "do you play basketball?" BUT come to think of it... I'd never go up to ANYBODY and ask them if they play any sport. Like if I saw some muscular guy and just going up to him and being like "do you wrestle?" ... just seems weird to me.

I think those types of questions must be an older person thing.

I'm only 5'7 but I've been 5'7 since I was 12 or 13 so everyone thought I was going to be really tall, so I can relate to the basketball thing. Everyone always tried to talk me into playing in the kiddie basketball leagues in church and what not when I was a kid. We had a school wide basketball tournament in 6th grade and these really athletic girls asked me to be on their team because I guess they figured since I was tall I would be good at basketball. I actually really suck at it. I made us lose our first game in the tournament because I didn't even know where the ball was half the time. At one point in the game i remember it hit me in the head and instantly became one of my most embarrassing moments ever.

I think I may have found my soul mate today. I had to call my cable service provider to help me set something up and it ended up taking an hour and the girl was so funny and nice and we had a good convo.

I dont even know what she looks like but im pretty sure she would be awesome.

I was planning on calling back tommorwo with another issue but the chance of getting the same person is like... id have a better chance of getting struck by lightning

Hahaha... Pretty much the same thing happened w me and a basketball thing we had at my school when I was in 5th grade. I didn't get hit on the head but I couldn't steal a ball worth shit and everyone had been thinking I'd be really good at it. Kinda funny. I was just pretty clueless w how to get in there and get the ball without incurring a penalty.

Is she from anywhere near you?

I used to do telemarketing and I had some awesome conversations w people doing that. A girl friend and I both worked at this telemarketing place together when we were 20 and were passing the headset back and forth talking to this guy who lived about 40 mins away from us. He ended up inviting us to a party that night and we went. It was pretty fun...and crazy that we'd just go meet someone like that but yea, I guess to be young...
