Post songs that you find moving in some way. I was talking with a friend about this today. Certain songs always "get" me, no matter how often I hear them. Here is the first one that comes to mind: Share yours!
I remember listening to this song when i got my heart broke back in like middle school lol.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqvvaOQWsBM
this one hits hard because my cousins hired a singer to sing it accapella in the chapel for my aunts funeral and it was done perfectly...it was her favourite song

I don't know exactly what is meant by songs that "move" you, but this song was so empowering that it would make me cry to listen to it. It may not mean as much today, but in 1993, this was the ballsiest statement I'd ever heard a woman make. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH-9Pow-2oE Hey girlfriend! I got a proposition goes something like this: Dare ya to do what you want Dare ya to be who you will Dare ya to cry right out loud "You get so emotional baby" Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya Girl-fuckin-friend yeah Double dare ya Double dare ya Double dare ya Girl Don't you talk out of line Don't go speaking out of your turn Gotta listen to what the Man says Time to make his stomach burn Burn, burn, burn, burn Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya Girl-fuckin-friend yeah Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya Girl You're a big girl now You've got no reason not to fight You've got to know what they are Fore you can stand up for your rights Rights, rights? You do have rights Double dare ya, double dare ya Double dare triple fuckin dare ya girlfriend Double dare ya, double dare ya, double dare ya Girl
37 as well LOL OMG that is so cool. I never made my own zine, but about 3 weeks ago (this is getting spooky) I spent the weekend making these collages out of concert fliers and fanzines and I framed them and hung them in my bathroom (I know, right?) So now my bathroom is like this shrine to Riot Grrrl.
This song always takes me to my Irish roots....too bad the Hungarian Gyppo in me always seems to win. 51/49. Clannad. Harry's game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9JsKnBvWqI
I like Shakin All Over by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates but I don't know how to post it on here. Can someone help?
I have a number of 'favourite' songs - many of which depend on my mood at the time, although this one has a profound significance. "What was, and what may have been - if ..." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uqNLnEzDLA Although the song has been covered by a number of artists, the use of an innocent child in the narrative is particularly poignant. Despite the strides and advances in "Segregation, Bigotry, Hate and Prejudice" - sadly still remains with the last line of the song somewhat of an accurate summing up of those who take up with that credo of choice
