Which song(s) mean most to you, or you can relate to the most? I guess I have many, but November Rain always means a lot to me! I have soo many songs that really touch me, or describe me!
Today, if you excuse I'll choose one that most of you may dislike. Nitin Sawhney + Will Young (yeah! the Pop Idol winner!) - Home. Wow! Such a great performance together! Others would be some by Melanie Safka, India Arie, or maybe Jeff Buckley's songs on live at Sinée. An inspiring performace, indeed!
I agree, 'November Rain' is a classic. My favourite song is 'Comfortably Numb', but what do I relate to the most? I would probably have to go with 'Riviera Paradise' by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Just the way he feels the notes - it really (and I'm trying not to sound too pretentious here) speaks to me.
"Inscense and Peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock "Nobody Told Me" by John Lennon and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the Beatles All songs about how crazy the world is.
There's this poem in the book "The Haunting of Hill House": In delay there lies no plenty. Present mirth hath present laughter. Oh, stay and hear, Your true love's coming, Who can sing both high and low. Trip no further, pretty sweeting; Journeys end in lovers meeting. That's the one I always sing to myself when I'm feeling shy, scared, nervouse, or upset. Or even often when I'm happy.
"Everybody's talkin'" by Harry Nillson. "Everybody's talking at me, I can't hear a word they're sayin' only the echoes of my mind, people stopping staring, I can't see their faces only the shadows of their eyes" And what i'd give to "skip over the ocean like a stone" *sighs* I can also relate to "The happiest days of our lives/another brick in the wall part 2" by Pink Floyd. Because I FUCKING HATED school and everything it stood for. So the Happiest days of our lives are bieng bullied by your fellow classmates and ripped to shreds by your teachers? Yeah fucking right! *calms down* lol
I can relate to Strawberry Alarm Clock - Incense and Peppermints *Tune-a by the cockeyed world in two. Throw your pride to one side, It's the least you can do. Beatniks and politics, nothing is new. A yardstick for lunatics, one point of view. Who cares what games we choose? Little to win, but nothing to lose.
