I used a program called ACID for most of it and a separate recorder (Mbox) for some of the guitar. I have a version of Protools I think I want to try to polish some of the production with Protools as the ACID program is a little overly rigid on some of the songs, give it a better 'feel' with protools if you know what I'm saying. But I have that stuff stashed right now because I had to move rooms like 2 months ago.
Thanks. I'm interested in making music and I don't have any good tools (aside from Audacity and my Casiotone :afro
If you have a decent computer, I would save up and probably just get the ProTools Program and like a mini 12-24 keyboard controller that you can basically make a lot of beats with. ACID is a relatively cheap program but it's also a very limited program. Stuff like Reason, Ableton and ACID can probably be torrented for free, may be slightly more difficult to use the other 2 though.
I'm always reluctant before trying new home-recorded music, but this is really good. Major props! And I definitely love the drums. Have you used Ableton at all? I have it, but I'm still going through the learning curve. Do you think ACID might be better?
I've never used Ableton, from my understanding both Ableton and Reason are much Better than ACID though. ACID is really good at being able to make beats easily but the edition that I have at least is very rigid when it comes to being able to pitch shift, using octaves, changing tempos, etc. The brief amount of time I've spent using Reason the flexibility of it was much better than ACID but constructing beats was slightly more difficult.
