You're an elitist and that's ok. What's wrong with employing more efforts. The awkward period is shorter.

Again it's simply not your way.

well now you're just slinging mud. if you want to go ahead and bring some actual facts to the table here and talk about the advantages and disadvantages of different methods i'd be glad to discuss it. if you're just going to continue name calling and taking pot shots in every thread you poke your head in then you wont be getting anything meaningful to talk about. the fact is though its already widely known what different things will do to your hair and more reading of this board would reveal that.

G, all I did was talk about a different way and you're all hot under the collar about it. If anyone is in the wrong here it's you. There was some very good things said in this thread about the hypocritical nature behind wanting the world to accept you with dreads and then insisting people form dreads only one way.

You'd do wise to go back and read it.

Yeah, the self righteousness has got to go.

I consider my dreads spiritual, but I have to remind myself of what spirituality means to me and understand that it does not equal what I'm seeing here. Experiencing this bickering and hostility makes me question dreads as a spiritual process, and it makes me want to disown any spiritual nature of the dreads I have. I, however, have been in this culture long enough to know that this is a small minority of it. It is sad to know there are people who may end up combing them out and saying "fuck this" when they see what assholes some "spiritual" dreadies can be. The fact I have considered combing mine out to disassociate myself with it is indication enough. We are losing people by being this way, and we are certainly not inspiring them to go natural.

Furthermore, we are making ourselves look like complete and utter assholes who are batshit crazy over our hair.

Words mean very little when there is no action behind them.

Are your dreads spiritual? Then be a spiritual being and spread THAT energy.

i just don't understand anymore, are you delusional, or just intentionally being confusing?

i didn't say anyone was wrong, ive never even suggested that there was a right or wrong way to anything.

again, said nothing about forming locks in one way.

this is a damn straw man argument is what it is. its just so blatantly obvious im thinking you're doing it on purpose.

if anyone wants to talk straight here, i'm all for it, but if people keep dancing around the subject, why bother?
