Yeah, well most drugs were legal at the time and he had various health problems including migraines, lost consciousness, a knee injury that left him limping, and weakness from childhood whooping cough, so that isn't surprising.

A species of hominin presumed to be new was discovered a few years ago. The research team dubbed the name of the species Homo Naledi which comprises the most thorough excavation of any extinct hominin species to date, with remains from several different individuals discovered.

The fascinating thing about these remains is that the fossils suggest a gracile body and a small cranium characteristic of australopithcenes ("Lucy") with some characteristics of early homo species, however the remains were found in a cave together, which suggests complex burial traditions and unlike the expected timeline of these individuals living several millions of years ago based on some of the superficial features, the bones are dated to ~250,000 years ago.

There is debate on the species id, with some contending they are Homo Erectus fossils and there is skepticism about whether there is enough evidence to infer that this species actually practiced burials.

Maybe there's a possibility the Naledi one entered that cave later?

The largest swarm of locusts ever recorded, occurred in the U.S. in 1875 covered an area of 198,000 square miles. It was the largest concentration of animals in the history of the world.

It was approximately 1/4 to 1/2 mile deep or high, 110 miles wide, and 1,800 miles long. An area of 198,000 square miles would cover the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
The insects were so voracious they would eat the clothes off of peoples backs.

Kenpachiro Satsuma, the actor who played Hedorah, was struck with appendicitis during the production. Doctors were forced to perform the appendectomy while he was still wearing the Hedorah suit, due to the length of time it took to take off. During the operation, Satsuma learned that painkillers had no effect on him.[7]
