I've attended protests, I'm politically outspoken, I'm outspoken about my beliefs about the government, law enforcement, etc. i identify as an anarchist I've never been arrested but I've been hassled plenty by law enforcement, i think freely and read often.... My loved ones think I'm paranoid when i tell them this, but I always wonder if someday I'm gonna 'disappear'; the man, the powers that be are gonna take me out and erase all evidence of my existence.
Trust me, you're not important enough for anyone to care. At most, your name might be on a list of people attending a protest.
True wisdom spoken here:2thumbsup: I wish more people would wake up, and stop spreading these paranoid ideas. They are harmful, and cause people to live in fear, afraid to do anything because someone is probably watching everything they do, even listening to their thoughts maybe This is exactly what the government and "authority" want of course, it is a method they use to control us. Thepoetsappho: I believe in Anarchy too! Socialism sounds good (true socialism at least), but any time there is a "system" some will get greedy and want more, and try to get more power, more money, more control and the expense of others, and the expense of those that desire to play by the "rules" that they create for us.
I could say all those same things about myself...and I have a name like mine on here....and I have been arrested quite a few times...and other things.... and I really don't think I'm going to disappear. I think it takes much more than something that you have done or I have done or most people have done. I wouldn't worry bout it.
I think you would have to be deeply involved in an anti government movement for this to even remotely be a fear And at this time I dont think any big government movements exist, just a scattering of people who don't approve of the system.
Started back in 96-97... They were gonna cut down a 400 year old oak in the park in Ojai CA. and some guy strapped himself up in the branches. We were getting water and food up to him on the first day but then the cops wouldn't let us anymore. Better to starve him out of the tree. On the third day, he had to give up and climb down so 2 other guys and I acted like concerned family and helped him as soon as he got to the ground. When the cops arrested him and started to cuff him all 3 of us scampered up into the tree with the local crowd cheering. Cops started screaming and the chainsaw guys gave up and went home... Cops cleared the park just in case others tried the same. We had to get out the next day as we were totally unprepared to spend days in that tree but it was a neat stunt and made local newspaper. Since then there have been other similar protests about those same trees and now, sadly I hear they are gone. I can't do physical protest anymore but stay active with some issues, esp the Emerald Ash Borer/Asian Longhorn Pine Borer and I own property effected by both. My name is on all the petitions related to trees/forests and clearcut logging. Both local senators know me by name now... One likely tosses the emails without reading, or his staff does and the other seems to be on my side about some of this but it's not his thing, he has other issues directly related to the people, but he responds. About every 2 months my main email box gets trashed, shyt's all mixed up date wise, stuff goes missing, stuff is marked read that I haven't opened yet. So now I keep over 4000 messages in my main inbox just to mess with their heads. I send emails back and forth from another email. Whoever "they" are. They aren't gonna arrest me and make me disappear but it's fun to mess with their heads and keep them wondering. Yeah... Tree-hugger. But dammit, we NEED trees if we want to live on this planet.
what can actually be done with those? i know they don't let you transport wood between counties, but is there anything being done beyond that? my parents lost a couple big ash trees in the last couple years, and the parks i used to work for lost a few too, but i never heard anything about a possible solution; it kind of seems like everyone has just accepted that the ash tree is going to be extinct before long.
Not much can be done at this point for the Ash trees but reforestation should be looked into. It would also be a good idea to keep this from happening with other species... If you have read how this started, infected trees from asia used as separators between shipping containers, it wouldn't have been hard so stop before it even started. It's still possible there are a few Ash with a genetic twist that made them immune but instead they are cutting now healthy trees in advance of the spread without knowing if they are cutting trees that could possibly have that twist. Stopping the transport of firewood from one effected county into another effected county is just stupid. But, yeah. We are watching that tree go extinct or nearly so. I grew up seeing the same thing happen with Dutch Elm disease. We just don't learn from our mistakes.
Oh well thanks for the little red egg, so by all means then share with us all how you have been "hassled plenty" by the pigs, what are we talking about? Parking tickets? And what kind of car do you drive now, one of those big soccer mom suvs?, ones so high you cant see if you are about to run over a small child, and parking tickets cos you just park where you want cos thats what you are entitled too Once youve finished in the toilet sometimes you dont do the little fold in the end of the toilet roll cos youuuuu wanna be an-ar-chy
