Okay.In outer space there is no such thing as up and down or left or right.All sense of direction is relative to the object.I think Glen will concur here.You're not feeling upside down are you Glen? Although relative to me you are.If we put on jet packs and met at the equator,Glen,who would be the right way up?We would both feel the right way up but I would see you as being upside down and vice versa...Oh hang on,I haven't quite thought this through...What a ya think?

I think if the earth was in view of where you are in space then you would be more inlined to keep your head level with the north pole....i dont know maybe those down under would do the same for the south pole. Glen might have meant that but i was talking about after the flight was over and you get out and float about ou in space.

 

The Northern hemisphere is presented through history as being at the top,i.e "up" because modern cartography originated in the Northern hemisphere.Because of this,through time everyone has been inculcated with the notion of a world/cosmos that has an up and down.But this is a complete logical fallacy.Notice how pictures of Earth from outer space always show this Euro-centric positioning of the earth as having a "top" and a "bottom".If map making had originated in the Southern hemisphere we would get a totally opposite picture.The Southern continents would be "up" etc...Correct me If I'm wrong.

 

this is something i never asked someone from the south. i recently was thinking about the seasons and how they are different. but i would have been more interested in how they see the globe. do they see it the way we do (in that the person viewing is always right side up) or do they themselves consider themselves upside down.

 

there is just something about that to make me think the black science man had never said that.

We see stars that do not exist anymore.....light is just reaching us from them
