Some Dutch artists and producers made a song for the new king of the Netherlands

As someone pretty much said earlier, Feudalism (and Monarchism and Nepotism) are obscene and pathetic.
I don't think that feudalists are any better than genociders, paedophiles and the rest of the lowest of the low.

There's something severely wrong when people yell "racism", "sexism", and other "isms", yet they're bowing down in deference to parasites who claim to be above democracy or doing a days work based merit, rather than who their g-g-g-g-g-g-g-grandparents murdered.

Royalism is a sickening stench.. Atleast most of Europe got shot of theirs.
In England its a huge cancer full of fawning idiots and pathetic hangers on.

the awful king´s song is embarrassing,half the country seems to be traumatised by it.

It´s silly that someone can inherit the highest position in a country but I´m glad we don´t have an elected president who has a political agenda...but most of all i´m afraid we would most likely pick the wrong idiot.

the Prime minister´s party got aprox. 25% of the votes so it would be weird to make him President with that low support.I don´t see how it could ever work in our system with coalitions so i´m contend with a ceremonial monarch.

and although I don´t agree with the VVD I don´t see Rutte as an idiot...but there are some questionable politicians who´s support "changes like a rooster on a churchtower" that i´m more worried about.

I had to look him up on Yahoo just now since nobody posted a photo.

Yeah naw, he looks too old to have liked that song at all. Sounded like it was made for a child, in my opinion. Nice try though.

And what's with the tie? Kings should be all fancy dressed like in his Grandpa's Royal portrait, with the medals, sword, sash and cape, etc.

btw are swedish, norwegian and finnish similar languages? can you understand eachother?

 

Sweidish and norwegian are roughly similar, as dutch and german. Most dutch and german people can not understand each others language just like that despite the seemingly many similarities. Finnish is a whole other language than swedish and norse. Dutch, english, norse, swedish and german all have many similarities but are different enough on each own that you can't really understand eachother without at least some knowledge of the other language.

 

I'm not sure there is anything objectively distasteful about monarchy. An elected government can trample a mans rights just as easily as a king can. Having said that, I think countries like the Netherlands and England that hold on to a monarchal tradition are interesting, even if that tradition no longer has any teeth.
