will that be happen? My estimation is that everyone goes berserk in such an event. Most people in the industrial nations have never learned to live without shelter, without supermarkets, without water taps, etc. They will fight for every breadcrumb they can get. People from so called third world countries are better off. They know how to live with minimum resources. So it's a simpler life in term of technologie, but in terms of quality of life it's IMHO much more complicated.

yes.. for a lot of people it will be. for me.. no. i have lived in some crappy places, been in some horrible situations. i've already started to prepare, but still have a long way to go to know what needs to be known. i don't NEED a lot of these conveniences we as humans have come to rely on.

 

I've lived without hydro before, I could do it again.

 

That's it - we've come to rely on them. Everyone can live without them, just will take some adjusting.

There are so many things that I take for granted and am trying to live without, or at least less.

 

The no water thing would be what would bug me.
Other than that, even as much as Im on here we'd be fine. In fact it'd be nice not hearing everyone whine about who has more on the DVR.

It'd be nice if they had a backup plan for the postal service, then I could write to my friends who have moved. If not, thats okay. We've gone long times before without contact, we just pick it back up when we get in contact again.

well, let's hope for the best. I can build shelters, I can repair machines, I can fish, read the sky and maps etc. pp. But I am really curious if I can find a sustainable food source and survive for a long time having only a basic set of tools.

i have begun to save seeds from foods i eat. they probably won't be worth a damn for trying to grow... but why the hell not? they'll make a nice art display anyways.

 

Without everything in place before it happens then no one is going to do very well if it does.

there are so many ways for the shit to hit the fan its not even funny.. also we could be like the frog in room temperature pot of water.. the heat is slowly turned up until the frog boils to death..

 

indeed.. if you stop and think about how carefully balanced everything is, it's just amazing it hasn't all come down yet.

 

the frog sits in the water as the temperature is turned up.. if u put a frog straight into boiling water it will jump out... also if you put two frogs in a pot of milk, one will drown and die.. the other will flap his frog legs untill he's standing on a chunk of cheeze..
