You know it's an amazing feeling getting home and ripping off my socks and letting my feet breath after been locked away in shoes and socks all day at work. The feeling I get when I take my socks off is so good I actually daydream about it all day at work. Obviously I'd much rather spend my time barefoot but sadly my work won't allow me to.
I spent the last 5 years at work sockless and loved it. Walked to and from the parking lot barefoot and slipped on my shoes at the last moment. Socks suck!
Socks whilst wearing shoes serve there purpose. But as soon as the shoes come off so do the socks. It's like instinctive for me.
i'm still wearing sandals at work, but it's getting cold here and i keep my windows open as late in the year as i can stand to, so i've been coming home and putting on socks for warmth purposes. i think socks are generally pretty comfortable, it's shoes that make me feel like my feet are in a box.
The problem with socks is that they are a closed, and often sweaty space that creates an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and fungi. Something that is not that great for your feet, as I learned trough experience in a past life, and is the reason why I no longer wear them at home. Unfortunately, for someone like me who lives in the icy north, they are nevertheless a necessary evil. Some conditions just don't allow bare feet.
Yeah, let the feet breathe, but don't let them get nasty inside shoes is how I look at it. Socks with shoes to avoid nasty feet, but otherwise no socks so my feet can breathe.
I feel the same way! Have to have 'em for work, but the thing I like best about socks is taking 'em off! Toes gotta breathe!
