What about the "freeloaders" at the top ? You know the big banks and car companies that took all that corporate "welfare" in bail out money . Where's the hate for them ? Guess that's okay though huh ? After all "there to big to fail " , even though they fuckin knew the bubble they created was going to burst , but they didn't give a shit cause joe six pack and his "safety net" entitlement programs were there to bail their sorry asses out , while they reaped record profits and rode the greed train in a race to the bottom . W.T.F., if you added up all those freeloaders at the bottom , what they got in their whole lives would never compare to what the top "freeloaders" got in bail out monies . And then you talk about driving a honda , how many American "freeloader" jobs were lost because of that purchase ? That's the very reason we need entitlement programs now , to many "Americans" buying foreign made shit , and destroyed our industrial base . We cut our own throat ! And now there's nothing left execpt seven buck an hour service industry jobs . The living wage union manufacturing jobs are all gone for that very reason ! And gee where are all these "lowlife freeloaders" coming from ?
Very good point. But I don't see how giving more authority to the government who favors the rich is going help the poor.
Socialism is bad because corrupt criminal governments spend money how they want to spend it, which is always to give themselves more power.
So because of my thoughts on the "bottom end freeloaders" you assume to know my thoughts one "top end freeloaders." They are dramatically worse, and the biggest reason why we are in the trouble that we are in. Just because I lean to the right, doesn't mean that I'm George fucking Bush. Btw the Honda purchase was not by choice, but neccesity.
I can understand being frustrated about that, and I kind of am considering I can't even seem to get food stamps or medicaid and can only hope to get a part time job soon hopefully...which will probably cover food, bus fares/gas money for people giving me rides and whatever that leaves me with for enjoying my free time. I mean its not impossible someone on welfare could save up and get a vehicle....but to that extent it does seem a bit odd. I don't see why people with the means to buy nice new vehicles like that would need the welfare.
That's my point....they don't need it. Meanwhile people that do need it are being turned away. People attack me as if I want to take money away from the people who need it. I just want the fed to be more efficient in who they are giving it to. Bottom and top end. If you don't need help they shouldn't be giving it to you.
The government seems to do a good job at helping people who don't need help and leaving those who do to basically either find their own way to survive or die.
See, the point is that the thread was about sharing and that the government should be using money to help those who need it. Simple fact is that for that to happen, those who have it, are the ones who get to put out for it... Those who have more, put out more. As you jumped from that to complaining about people on welfare, you gave the impression that you were in fact, "George Bush" (as you put it). Was this supposed to be a defense to what he said? lol
Actually in some states it is impossible. State laws vary on this, in Ohio if you are saving up for a car, so you can go and get a job, as soon as you have over a certain amount saved, boom! no more assistance. That amount is not enough to buy a reliable car. There are no "conditional exit strategies" for those that are actually trying to help themselves, such as saving for a good used car for getting a job..... Those people with the $50,000.00 cars, whoever they are, must have had them before getting on assistance or state laws are very different there. You are allowed one car here, I think it has a maximum value, not sure what it is. As I say, each state sets their own standards.
In bourgeois democracies and the "free market" it is so much different, and better. You just have to close your eyes a lot, and be of the same ethnic group as the majority of rich of your country.
I am sure it probably is impossible in some states. Also, either they had them before getting on assistance or are paying for them with other means...in the cases where someone has a nice car for instance and ends up on disability for some reason or loses their job and cannot find another soon enough and ends up receiving assistance I see nothing wrong with them keeping their car......But I would be kind of wondering if it appeared most people on welfare in a certain area had nice, expensive, new vehicles. But yeah I don't know a whole lot about what regulations about cars & welfare there are in all the states....I don't have a car and doubt I will any time soon if at all. So I don't follow that kind of thing a whole lot.
Disability and welfare/foodstamps are two different things with different rules and circumstances, although the line gets blurred a quite a bit by Faux News and it's viewers....
I am well aware of that, both are types of welfare though as they both involve government aid to people in need of it. Also I think I would rather die of a drug overdose than watch Faux News. The point was I understood the frustration the poster I was responding to expressed about most of the people on welfare in their area having nice, new cars in their drive way as I would probably find that frustrating as well. Not that Disability & foodstamps/other welfare programs are the same thing.
The reason I stated that is I'm on SSDI, which is Disability Insurance, all workers pay into this during their working life. It's not welfare, it's insurance. I hate being on it but I guess it beats living in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere. It's not luxury and it's not a free ride, it's total loss of freedom.... little did I know that I was also going to be accused daily of being a "scum sucking crackhead"..... Yeah, touchy nerve there. Being in pain management, which does nothing for pain by the way, I can't even have the one thing that does help my condition, my smoke..... and to be accused of being a drug addict? Yeah right! /rant I'm eligible for foodstamps, I won't accept them, others need them more than I. I just hope the right people get them.
Oh alright, I was talking about SSI not SSDI I know that one's not welfare. And those are terribly stupid reasons to be considered a drug addict...wtf is wrong with people.
