Pure capitalism is a fiction. It has never existed and hopefully never will. Picture a world with no governmental regulations at all. Anything goes in the quest for profit. No labor laws, no public police, firemen, schools, health, highways, postal system, dams, armies, etc. Imagine your child working twelve hour days in a coal mine. Think of driving your unregulated car down the private road system paying tolls on every road, bridge, and tunnel you travel. No uniform signage, traffic laws, or maintenance. Crossing unregulated bridges in a vehicle that may explode when hit by another due to poor design. Traveling on concrete, macadam, brick and dirt roads patrolled by private police forces who can stop you at any time on their whim and incarcerate you in their own private prison system for violating one of their own independent private laws. Maybe you honked your horn near the house of some rich industrialist, thus disturbing his peace. Then you stand "trial" in his private court and are sentenced to hard labor in his factory with no pay...until one of your relatives buys your freedom. I could go on. The pure capitalism being pushed in this thread is much worse than any mixed economy on Earth. “Fascism is capitalism plus murder.” ― Upton Sinclair
Since the war on poverty’s beginning in 1964, $22 trillion dollars were spent fighting poverty. Meanwhile poverty rates remained at a stagnant 10-15%. $22 trillion is enough money to buy every low income citizen in USA a million dollar home. The War on Poverty’s Expensive Failure Meanwhile marriage rates have fallen, and children born out of wedlock and raised by single parent households is at 40% today. Up from 7% in 1964 Unwed Birth Rate Children in single parent homes have a greater disadvantage than their counterparts. Marriage Won’t End Poverty. But It Will Help (A Lot).
Yes America is not a true democracy it's an oligarchy which is even more prone to corruption. The currency is not devalued. This is backed up by actual economists. Not sure why you find sharing toiler paper gross when it's not used Yes Robbin Hood stole from the 1% and gave to the poor. However you want to skew it there is an upper class which exploits the lower.
What does "peace keeping" mean? Probably military action which is done for the US first and most important. Our large military budget is part of the UN too. We don't really participate in the climate change actions or anything like that making the world better. We just promise that will kill someone for the UN before they can attack America. Doctors should not be forced to go anywhere. But it's pretty extreme to say Trump has done more then them. He is not a doctor and his ego has caused the death of many people already. People will not distance and in some cases have literally overdosed because they took the "medicine" he said was safe. He has made the virus political. In his mind all the bad things exist only to hurt him. So his voter is either a bad conservative who leaves the cult or one who listens to doctors. I think you are just upset there is SOME nice elements of Cuba. If Communism does good things then where are your right wing values?
What proof do you have that government programs are responsible for the poor? What proof do you have that we would have less poor if those programs weren't implemented? What proof do you have that fewer marriages is due to government programs? Do unwed mothers lead to poverty or does poverty lead to unwed mothers? Do you have proof for either position? And again what proof do you offer for your contention that charitable donations lead to more people going to work than government aid? You've given three opinion pieces. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
the process by which resources or stock of capital produces, the flow of output of goods and services is for people to utilize.
Still don't know what you mean..but I'll bite. Sure. Who else would utilize it? I don't think my cats have much interest in the goods and services that capital produces unless I utilize it for them in the form of cat food and litter..
Do you believe in social betterment of some people as a necessary prerequisite for the acceptance of ideals by the masses?
To the peeps against socialism... Do you think we should have to pay for mail delivery and library cards? Should all roads and bridges be toll? Should public parks have a cover charge? Should only people who can afford it be able to report a crime to the police or call the fire department? Why or why not?
Please rephrase this question. I don't know what you mean by social betterment of some people or the acceptance of ideals by the masses. What is social betterment? What kind of social betterment? Who are some people? What ideals? And how are these ideals related to your definition of social betterment?
