Ravelinks, 4ravers, Candykids, Klik, and Ravemedia all died I think. 4ravers is still up but no one uses it. Plurspace became plurlife and is still up. I came across a site that still lists events, but I don't know the promoters at all. So it isn't like going to a safe space or anything like that. Some of the venues seem alright. There was a rooftop party awhile ago that looked like it might be okay for example. Another one was in that tower in downtown LA that has the slide on the outside of the building. Stuff like that. Here's the site. Los Angeles/San Diego/Southern California Electronic Music - Event Listing

They are all just different versions of web pages though, pics, texts, emojis....yawn

Have you seen Ready Player One?

Even if the next big thing is like the Oasis you see in that, a hyped up Second life thing....well it all just came off kind of depressing on that movie

the young folks don't seem to yawn at it. i don't remember the last time i saw a picture of someone under 25 that didn't have dog ears and a ring of virtual flowers around their head.

really can't predict the next actual revolutionary big thing. someone will come up with something cool, and all the kids will jump on board, and then all us geezers will jump on board and ruin it for them.

This is the only social media site that I use,

I have a Nokia 6300 phone that I have used for about 9 years and nearly 3000 hours, mainly for work. Newer phones simply run out of battery before lunch and changing the battery is not possible during the day. I am now on my 4th battery (due to my usage) so having to return the phone to a dealer for replacement would have been a pain, as well as costing more than the £4 a replacement costs from battery manufacturer.

I sent 7 text messages last year, I really need to cut them down a bit.

do you mean charging the battery is not possible during the day, or actually changing it? if you're away from a power source and need to charge a battery, they do have portable phone chargers that you can take with you anywhere. i won one once, but it was cheap as hell and broke almost right away. but i'm sure they make better quality versions as well. the one i had was a little smaller than my phone itself, and you just plugged into it with your standard charger, so it was really not that inconvenient if a portable phone charger is really something that you need.

Some USB phones can charge from the port on a computer or laptop, but that is not always convenient when working away from the home or office.

I simply kept a spare battery with me if I was working on a project that required long phone calls/

Needing special tools to replace a battery is a scam. It ends up costing £30 to replace a £4 battery every few years. (500 full charge cycles)

I would be worried about the portable backup. The over-current safety limiters could interact and lithium ion batteries are prone to catching on fire at high current in either direction.

^ i really don't know any details on the portable chargers; like i said, i got one randomly that i used maybe once before the charger cord port broke. so i never bothered learning about how they work. but if it's something that could actually come in handy for you, just google "portable cell phone charger" and you should at least be able to see what's available and whether or not it could actually work for you. i just did and got way more results than i could ever actually read through; i just didn't look further than that since i personally have no need for it.

Facebook is already outdated. Once parents and grandparents got on it, it was game over. Kids are all about Instagram and Snap Chat

Maybe people will flock back to MySpace now. I miss it. We didn't even realize that by making our own layouts we were learning to code. Facebook dumbs us down and we don't need any more of that lol
