If 57 people had been banned today, how many people would be online right now.?????????
My calculation is less than none.

 

even if all 57 were from the members currently online list, we'd still have 15 plus the 22 bots and a million guests that are probably also largely bots.

of course, "members online now" isn't necessarily the same as people actually online at the moment.

 

So if their are only 838 current members, banning 57 a day would shut the site down within 15 days.

Your second point is true. Since HF is connected to our LAN server, I mostly appear online 24/7.

 

i think that's saying there's 838 entities online now, not that that's the number of current members. if you go to the list of all registered members, there are 20 per page, for a total of 14242 pages. so that's between 284821 and 284840 current members (not to say that 99% of them even remember that they're registered here).

also, even if there were just 838, i would still think that of those 57 per day, probably 56 of them would be spammer that registered the same day they got banned.

 

My gut feeling is that their are around 150 active members.
When someone reactivates an old thread, most or the members on the early pages still appear but the vast majority of them were last seen more than 5 years ago.

 

seems like a reasonable estimate to me.

As a forum owner myself if a person asks to leave they can always come back.
But anyway you just gotta hope that the ones who have asked to leave are all ok mentally. Even if he is lurking on here reading our comments.
